I have a decent dashcam, but I've yet to capture anything worth seeing. Maybe that's a good thing.

After the last couple 'cop beats unarmed person' and crash videos, I'm splurging on a dash cam. I'll do my best to keep my damn hand out of the shot.

This and also damn lucky there was rollout room and not a massive ditch or embankment, although an embankment probably would have mitigated the wind effects.

I need to hook my cam up again. The suction cup thingy broke and I need to find a way to mount it to the windshield.

Plains states got them some serious winds. Rode a motorcycle through Kansas and Nebraska once. I think I was at a 45 degree angle most of the time. Nothing like getting pushed by the wind on a bike. Well, maybe drivinga semi.

Then you go on a walled bridge and you're all over the place.

"You wanna go talk to that guy?"

I have a better idea... take him a new pair of shorts.  I have a feeling he could use it.

Crossing the Tacoma Narrows bridge (metal grate, high winds, huge uprights that block the wind) is interesting as well.  You can go from a strong crosswind to nothing to crosswind in under a second all on a rain slicked metal grate.

Next time I'm taking the Kingston/Edmonds ferry

Ditto.  Mine kept falling off the windshield when it got cold and I got tired of putting it back up.  Does me no good sitting in my glove compartment.

I used adhesive-backed Velcro and it works great.  My dash cam came with a permanently-mounted double-sided tape sort of thing and I didn't want it to be that permanent, so that seemed like a logical solution.  It's been there for about nine months with no problems.
