Abe Vigoda's Ghost: brimed03: frozenhotchocolate: Really... I saw this on reddit's WTF over a year ago. Old news.

Apparently "Erroneous and Misleading Headlines" are yesterday's schtick, now Fark is moving on to "Weird News of Yesteryear." I call dibs on submitting from ripleysbelieveitornot.com 1984 through 1994 (inclusive).

Take a second to read the date on the article...

Although it may be old news to those that frequent the custerf*ck that is Reddit, it appears that it's new to Mirror, and to the subby.

/Not subby.

Well, here it is four years ago, with a link to Pravda (the photo is gone from the Pravda story) and I'm sure I've seen it on Fark:  http://news.gather.com/viewArticle.action?articleId=281474977994313&n a v=Groupspace

In before someone seriously claims this mutation is proof of beastia-...

FTFA:
In Zimbabwe, a goat gave birth to a similar youngster in September 2009. The mutant baby born with a human-like head stayed alive for several hours until the frightened village residents killed him.
The governor of the province where the ugly goat was born said that the little goat was the fruit of unnatural relationship between the female goat and a man.
"This incident is very shocking. It is my first time to see such an evil thing. It is really embarrassing," he reportedly said. "The head belongs to a man while the body is that of a goat. This is evident that an adult human being was responsible. Evil powers caused this person to lose self control. We often hear cases of human beings who commit bestiality but this is the first time for such an act to produce a product with human features," he added.

According to the owner of the sheep, Abu Abdullah said "amazing thing was that her mother remained pregnant for nine months as humans".

...Damn.

In before some cleric claims this was divine punishment by Al-...

Oh, who am I kidding, that was probably the original headline.

FTFA: "It is unclear exactly what caused the mutation although an over abundance of vitamin A in the mother's feed is suspected to behind it."

Riiight.

I am sure that a DNA test would show zero human DNA in that... thing's genetic makeup. I do have to wonder what the possibilities are for human sperm to actually penetrate the eggs of a sheep. I know that it is something that was researched in regards to apes, but did anyone ever research that possibility in other species? Weird stuff like this definitely calls it into question.

Damn, late to the party and STILL getting bites.

Truth be told, it should be scientifically impossible for a human-sheep (or other type) hybrid to be created through these means (standard insemination). The only way a viable "Hybrid" could be made would be the same way the scientists created the "Spider goat" chimera, the one that produced spider silk proteins in its milk. As I understand it (although I am not a geneticist) the resulting creature should retain the physical features of the main animal you splice into. While the "Human" face of the lamb is creepy, if you look closer the skull still looks to be the correct shape, just with the external musculature and skin being rotated and disfigured. As to the cause of such a defect, I doubt too much vitamin A caused it or we'd see these more often. Probably a combination of factors, rather than a single cause.

You sound very well read on the subject of bestiality. Also, like you've used these 'facts' before. Possibly in court. Possibly in a child support case in Texas. After the DNA tests were inconclusive.

So, are you a lawyer, or a sickopervert? (answer carefully)
