That's what I thought, when they first linked it to camels. Is there another transmission vector besides camel snot, and eating improperly cooked camels? Can it pass from human to human now?

For those that actually want to know

Q: Does MERS-CoV spread from person to person?
A: MERS-CoV has been shown to spread between people who are in close contact.

Close contact is defined as a) any person who provided care for the patient, including a healthcare worker or family member, or had similarly close physical contact; or b) any person who stayed at the same place (e.g. lived with, visited) as the patient while the patient was ill.

No reason for panic, but when an unknown virus pops up out of nowhere and can kill people, I think our public health service needs to at least look into any cases that show up in the US. When such a virus originates in the Middle East, a hot-bed of terrorism and home to a country (Syria) that has had a chemical weapons program, and is fighting a civil war, in which it used those weapons on its one people, one must at least consider that this strange new virus may have escaped from a biological weapons program. This is unlikely, with MERS, since it isn't particularly virulent, but it must be considered.

What if surviving MERS gives eternal life, and we're spoiling humanity's last hope at immortality?

Nope, you'll need an emulator. If you had the DOS version; DOS box is a very good emulator. You'll just have to figure out how to get the game on your computer. A bunch of old DOS games are available for free download at old game empire. Unfortunately, not Red Baron. It's available for download for like $10.

It occurs to me now that I have RBII, so perhaps no emulator. I remember running it on WinXP. I haven't played much with old programs on 8, but I know 7 was pretty good at running ancient stuff. And no need to buy, I don't think I've ever thrown away a game disc.

I hope this isn't as serious as SARS, avian flu, swine flu, radiation from Fukushima, and all the other terrible terrible pandemics and disasters that killed off civilization as we know it over the past several years.

There was only one case last week. If it doubles every week, you'll have the entire nation infected in less than a year.

In the same time many more people were exposed and became immune, so no.
