Is he the same boy he used to be?

I listened to the 'back in the high life' album all through high school.

Of all my high school memories, they ate some of the best.

For anyone that wants to hear the great original instead of an old man in front of a fireplace (NSFW pedophile album artwork).

Adele sure put on the pounds. Salute to you, Mr. Winwood

I saw a post-Grateful Dead ("The Other Ones", for those scoring at homes) in San Diego about a decade ago, where a few songs into the set, they busted out "Dear Mr. Fantasy" (which the Dead covered fairly often through the late 80s to their end).  Bob Weir says something like, "ladies and gentlemen, a man whose courage can never be questioned, Mr. Stevie Winwood" and out he comes.  not listed on the bill, just in attendance and boom, they throw a guitar in his hands and march him out.

i took the comment to mean, "and here he thought he was just gonna watch the show from backstage, we decided to make him play a song for you".

He's a man, yes he am.

Also, I rarely suffer from really severe guitar envy, but I don't think there is any guitar I have lusted after as much as this green Firebird: Traffic/Dear Mister Fantasy/Santa Monica 1972

By the way, that clip is only half as long as it says -- for some reason, it's repeated with no audio after the midpoint.

Blind Faith really sucked

Wow, I haven't heard SW in 25 years. He can still belt it out. Great voice.

Thanks Subby

Spencer Davis Group, 1966, somewhere in Finland - Georgia On My Mind.

Steve was maybe 17 but sounded like he'd been lurking in the studio with Ray Charles since the 40's.

Sorry man. I got it, sort of.  But I scrolled through the thread and now decree that the liter Uzzah has won.

Judgement is final, that is all.

Oh I don't mind if nobody found my joke funny. I just think it's interesting when zero comments get any votes in a thread.

I suppose less than two dozen unique comments doesn't lend itself to a lot of eyeballs.
