In other news, human beings make mistakes. This seems like a muscle memory issue more than anything, one whiff begets two.

been there, done that.  a lot more than twice.

is there anything more annoying than golf announcers?

also, i heard that Johnny Miller once shot a 63 in the us open...any truth to that?

It looks like the subtle slope through his swing and body for a loop

At Oakmont, I believe. That makes it superior to any 63 that's ever been shot at a major championship.

Meh.  I shot an 11 on a par 4 a few weeks back because I couldn't chip up the hill to the green far enough so my ball kept comically rolling back downhill to my feet.  It was pretty hilarious in a way.

I still can't believe Kaymer made that putt.

Surely if this had happened, Johnny or NBC would have mentioned it during their US Open coverage.

Swing and a miss? must mean something completely different in subbys little world

Thank goodness cameras never capture my "practice swings."  If they did, I would just like to go on record with an "I meant to do that.'

Better question, why is Nick Faldo commenting on NBC coverage?  He's CBS' lead analyst.

That's actually the problem. Should have stood on one leg, or hit it with his 3 wood metal thingy

We get it Johnny Miller is a dick Mormon.

I have something horrible to admit; I haven't been too annoyed by Johnnie Miller lately.  I feel like someone at NBC must have told him to stop being such an ass and he actually listened.

He totally should have used his 3-metal. In a tournament as big as The Players, when you get in a situation like that, the shot you ought to play is a little chunk-and-run, rather than a flip wedge. You read the grain, and find the fall line, and that should tell you how to hit your shot. But instead, you can let your nerves take charge, and... you know what? I'll say it. That was a choke.

NBC lost their PGA contract.  They're moving to Fox next year (or the year after?).  The way I found out was an article with Johnny Miller basically saying "I'm not going to Fox even if they ask!"

I did some legwork.  It's the USGA contract that NBC lost.  This year will be the last Open on NBC.

He's also contracted to do commentary on Golf Channel, I believe. (Same reason why David Feherty has a show there while commentating for CBS...)

I'd be shocked if they offered and he passed.

He was trying to belly the wedge, not chip it. I have no idea what the farking deal with the putter was.

You and me, both.  If Fox had come calling, he would have snapped it up in a second.

I always thought that Golf Channel missed the boat on their 'spotlight coverage'.  I thought if they called it the 'non-Johnny Miller broadcast' their ratings would skyrocket.

It was a belly flop putt chunk
