hasty ambush: Giving money to government, why do Fark ProgressivesTM have a problem with this?

This is confusing.

2014-05-12 06:29:29 AM

gfid: PreMortem: Dumbass

My initial reaction too - also who the fark gets $1650 for birthday money when they're 6 years old?

I know there's inflation and shiat, but I was lucky to get $5 each from both sets of grandparents.

I'm guessing this kid isn't really wanting for much.

Luxury. We used to have to pay our parents for the privilege of having a birthday... and there would be interest already compounded on next year's amount. If we were lucky.

2014-05-12 06:37:58 AM
Did anyone bother to read the part where that the donation is going to some youth summer program?

That the kid (and more importantly the local business donors who gave to the kid first) didn't give money to the cops so that the cops could buy a brand new assault rifle or to defray the cost of new riot helmets?

It's practically like raising funds for any other charity or rather a govt organization that is connected with a charity - like the Marines and Toys for Tots.

But far be it for me to get into the usual "Fark the cops" and "AmeriKKKa Police State" discussion.  Please continue.

So his money didn't come from his birthday, it came from shaking down local businesses?

He's running a string of 5-y/o ho's and has to give the cops a cut.

Huuuge mistake, now the pigs know he's flush. they'll be shaking him down on a monthly basis.

"It is amazing to see the world through his eyes," said his mother's partner, Julie Hall.

OMG gay couples are causing their children to be raised as caring individuals! The Republicans were right!

For the mentally challenged:

The kid didn't get 1650 bucks for his birthday. He asked people to donate to the police for his birthday, and those donations totaled $1638.

2014-05-12 07:31:38 AM
The kind of person who gets $1,650 for his sixth birthday is the kind of person the police are there to protect.

PreMortem: Dumbass kid. I had delusions about "Officer Friendly" as a child also. He is going to regret this.

Yep. That money is gonna buy a Taser or two, or just a LOT of McD take-out.

It still makes him particularly stupid. Like asking people to send care packages to the goons who are bodyguarding Cliven Bundy.

Wonder what his parents did to pony up the hush money in such a grotesque way.

Poor, poor brainwashed kid.

That kid's got some sh*t to hide...

Or as I said, his parents do.  Six year olds do NOT think like that. They want toys and birthday cake, not money for cops.  It reeks of brainwashing farked up parents.

100% agreement.

The parents should have told him no.

I've donated thousands to local law enforcement as well.

DUIs suck...

Maybe this was a bribe to get to the head of police admissions.

I'd just like to point out that with a decent rate of return, this would turn out to be $4000 for college education.

And cops?  Not the school, local food bank, firefighters, EMTs?  It has to be the one department aside from tax collection that actually generates revenue for the town?

2014-05-12 08:10:48 AM
And the asshat police force took it.  Assholes taking a 6 years old birthday money?  That farking city should be embarrased.

This kid's being indoctrinated early.

2014-05-12 08:11:24 AM

gaspode: Christ when I was six I got an action-man. not thousands of bucks. what is this shiat?

To be fair, back then $1,000 would buy a house.

You can now place bets on how long it will take this to fund the very same taser that will be used on him for resisting arrest as a result of running a lemonade stand outside mom and dads home.

That should help keep them in adequate ammunition for at least another couple of weeks.

No way his parents didn't orchestrate this.... the kid is six.  How many six year olds are worried about the cops' budget?

/ignoring the fact that they're paid by taxpayers and not a farking charity.

FTFA:
His $1,210.25 contribution to the Ocoee Fire Department last year was the largest one-time donation ever to the city firefighters, who used the funds in their "Fully Involved" program, which enlists volunteers to paint fire hydrants and build wheelchair ramps for disabled people in need.

No kidding, this site changes you.  I clicked thinking this was going to be another story of cops confiscating the kid's money during a search of his parents' car.  And he had the money saved up to cover his cancer treatment copay.  Thanks Fark.

Hey, kids! Don't forget to bring your drop weapon if you "unintentionally" shoot an unarmed citizen!
Small knives work best, they're easily concealable!
AND, we'll teach you how to pilfer from your weed busts so you'll be able to plant small amounts of mary jane on unsuspecting minorities!

\Had a cop for a stepfather who did this routinely.

because they get paid overtime to do it.

Nidiot: "Noah's mother works with disabled people and said she often talks with her son about taking advantage of opportunities to help others."

So basically the kid had no say in it.

"The boy said he likes helping community helpers."

Actually he'd probably really like some stuff for himself, but Mommy wont let him. Mommy wants him to be a miniature philanthropist instead of a normal six year old, it's all part of her image, and too bad what he wants. I wonder how many years it will take before he snaps and stabs her.

My first thoughts too. Let him put his money in the bank until he old enough to make a rational decision on his own.

$1650 will buy a lot of donuts.

exact same thing I said, too.  DNRTFA either.  but seriously, WTF?

sorry, kid, but there's no such thing as a pre-paid get-out-of-jail card.  They ain't going to remember shiat all about you when you fark up as a teenager.

Because the gigantic metal rod of smug self satisfaction is still firmly wedged in their tight asses. Anything with cops in it always gets cop in the thread. Even if its just some boy donating to the local police force that he looks up to.

Your first reaction might to think about things wedged in tight asses and lose all rational thought. But just because liberals like the idea of government feeding poor people doesn't mean we like the idea of government tazering poor people.
