Nice to see an Australian pissing all over Vettel this season.

Webber must be enjoying the sweet, sweet schadenfreude.

Racecars and competitive rock climbing for me to watch this morning?  Yeah, so much for a bike ride.

More tough luck. Finger Boy is taking a 5-place grid drop because they had to switch out his gearbox:

Charlie Whiting has apparently tools the back markers they need to pick up the pace on the formation lap so the front runners aren't there over heating their engines and letting their tires and brakes cool below operating temperature.

So it's looking like Vettel is a Button-esque driver. Very fast when the car handles in the way he wants, off the pace when it's not to his likeing. Unlike Alonso and Hamilton who can drive a crap car fast.

I'm shocked.  I actually get to watch a race, live for once.

And, in news on next season, Gene Haas says he's not going to buy Lotus or Caterham, but build his team in the USA.

*yawns* I hate the European season on the west coast.

Considering how much time Lotus spent courting Quantum despite all the warning signs of the guy heading Quantum being a snake oil salesman, I wouldn't want to trust their front office.

Great start for Boat Ass!!!

Out of curiosity, because I havent been able to watch F1 till now, due to time zone difference, has Vettel always complained about his car in every race so far?

/doesnt seem so tough without his tricked out KERS

I don't think he's missed a week of complaining even during the spring break.  It's the most consistent thing in that paddock this year.  Of course, sometimes he's not complaining about  his car as much as he's complaining about the rules changes.

Except Button only blew up about how shiatty his Honda was performing after the season was over (post-2007 IIRC?).  I don't remember this sort of weekly tirade.  But that might also be because 6-8 years ago social media was still very young and you didn't hear about every single belch that came out of a driver.

While Seb is struggling with bad luck. It's kinda like a role reversal of last year.

Is anyone gonna get their machine up to Mercedes levels this year?  Kinda boring when one manufacturer is so far ahead of everyone else.

With the engine freeze, probably not. Renault can apply to make some changes, and F1 probably would let them to increase the level of competion.

Let's wait and see what Honda brings to the table next year for a power unit.

It did amuse me over the last few years how Schumi/Ferrari said similar things with no sense of irony.

He keeps on wrecking his car and other cars and he might actually get his super license yoinked finally (it should have gotten yoinked last year, but sponsorship money).

If the Ferraris get lapped by the Mercs, I fully expect more people in Maranello to be asked to fall on their swords.

Going from 15th to 4th doesn't suck, does it?

I guess Williams is on an upswing.  They should be pleased.

C'mon Rosberg! You're the only hope so far to keep Hamilton from running away with this. And if you can't pull off some wins you are just like Webber was to Vettel.

And speaking of Vettel his drive today should prove to people that the kid can drive. His car is not the best in the field and he drove the f'n wheels off that thing to go from 15th to 4th. Hate on him all you want but he is a damn good driver. And Lotus is finally looking decent again. I still haven't given up on the season but unless something dramatic happens Mercedes and Hamilton are looking quite dominate.

2014-05-11 09:04:59 PM
Well lets hope that Monaco adds a little excitement as an appetizer to the greatest day in racing each year.
