robohobo: neuroflare: i dont know if this can be said enough but good idea/bad idea from animaniacs is a staple from my childhood

I still watch Animaniacs.

If you're a fan, take a listen to this guy.  He's a neckbeard, but holy fark is he good.

Wow. The fact he sight read it is even more amazing. When he does it the second time with his own embellishments it is phenomenal.

As a pharmacist I can tell you that at one time not so long ago pharmacies were able to take your expired meds and send them back to companies that would destroy them. Just a few years ago however the DEA apparently decided that local police stations or more capable of taking care of moving expired or dangerous medication out of the community. Of course we all know that evidence never disappears from police stations, so they're probably right.

Is that you, Chip?

WTH is it in an open bin that somebody can reach into??? Should be something like a mailbox so that once you drop it in, it's gone.

rjkline: Cops get pissed when this happens because they take the meds for personal use. I know this to be true.

If true, it'd be pretty amusing for someone to add a little LSD or 2C-I-NBOMe to the pills in question.

/Less amusing but more to the public good, cyanide

It would be best to not do that if the vial has your name or the name of anyone associated with you on it.  Also, the cops would look to the video for the person wearing gloves while depositing the vial, or for the fingerprints that were left on it.  Other than that, it would be the perfect crime.

I miss her in Tulsa. Check out the piece where she noodles. Really cool lady.

Real life isn't CSI, you know.

Go ahead, you do it.  I am not okay with doing a major felony that I could get caught at, like the derps in TFA.

I would never waste real acid on some random pigs.  And even if I did they would never admit to stealing the tainted medicine.

Your first point is excellent.  However, I believe that they would find out who did it because they would be hella pissed about being dosed.  They would find a way to make life miserable for that person without mentioning getting dosed.

basemetal: I was hoping these chucklef*cks would make the main page.  Nice, submitter.

subs here.  I know how the fark community loves themselves some dumbass criminals.  These boxes have been in place in Oklahoma for years in an attempt to curb the misuse of Rx meds.

I don't understand. Nobody else was going to use them.

gfid: I guess the cat litter is supposed to soak up the drugs?

No, the cat litter is just to deter people from taking the pills if they find them in the trash. In reality, I doubt any junkie would think twice about brushing a cat turd off a pill before taking it.

2014-05-12 01:19:36 AM

robohobo: Why not just flush them or throw them in the trash? I get that there's probably some asinine reason why not to flush them, but the trash seems like it would work. Why hand them back to officials?

"let's not put all kinds of bioactive and psychoactive chemicals in the groundwater" is the reason not to flush them OR send them to landfills. Pretty decent reason, really.

mutterfark: Manic Depressive Mouse: I've been on lots and lots of anti-depressants and the old ones tend to pile up as I switch to something new and "better." I really want to make a nice mosaic out of all my old pills, but I'm worried that people might judge me. Thoughts? Also, I'm not sure about the best adhesive to use that won't dissolve the pills.

Probably "coat it in Mod Podge first", that seems to be the advice for handling most things. ok, no, it seems to be polyurethane varnish for these, at least the capsules. http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-make-pill-earrings/ - there's quite a few shops doing capsule earrings. And this etsy shop https://www.etsy.com/shop/DesignerDrugJewelry uses one of the jewelry resins to coat and set the solid type pills, you could probably email and ask her which one, etsy's pretty friendly about that kind of thing.

blockhouse: The federal Controlled Substance Act prohibits the acquisition, possession, and transfer of controlled substances without a prescription written by a duly licensed

You should have kept reading.  I actually directly stated that in my post.  See?

lennavan: However, there is a law on the books that says you can't take someone else's prescription medication

blockhouse: It does not allow people to help themselves to the drug turn-in box.

The act of reaching in and grabbing something out is not illegal.  If for instance they had grabbed in the drug turn-in box and pulled out a fuzzy rabbit, that would have been legal.
