Q:  Why don't Arabs circumcise their camels?

A:  So they have a place to put their gum during a sandstorm.

/Thank you!

I think the Jews/Israelis/Zionists come first.
Of course they probably think the CIA is controlled by them anyways.

I'm sure that the sheer number of catering gigs ruined by this announcement is mind-boggling.

Screw that, everyone knows that a camel steak should be served at most medium rare.  Anything else just destroys the flavour.

Also be sure to use all those towels to properly clean the meat. I hear towels are as common as hats.

I just want to point out that camel burgers are mighty tasty.

When I lived in Meknes, Morocco, there was a camel butcher in the Medina who sold camel kefta (ground camel meat with some herbs and spices mixed in) pretty cheap. Next door were several shops where you could drop it off and they'd cook it up and serve it with bread and tea again for pretty cheap. Good stuff!

Seems to me they're just guessing.

It also notes that sick camels should not be slaughtered for consumption and urges, essentially, that MERS-infected camels should be put in isolation.
"People should avoid direct contact with any animal that has been confirmed positive for MERS-CoV," the FAQ says. That may be easier to say than do. Some studies have suggested the virus does not make camels noticeably ill.

As far as I know, nobody has found a camel that was sick with MERS. Many camels test positive for MERS exposure, far too many to quarantine.

In healthy individuals, yes, but it's still full of nitrogenous waste products that are toxic in high concentrations.  Which is why animals pee it out in the first place.

Urine can contain virus and cyst or egg stages of a few parasites.

Don't drink camel urine, check.  I 'm kind of absent minded so I sure hope I don't do it without thinking about it.

Here's my favourite: Dioctophyma renale (not safe for lunch)

It basically devours the kidney from the inside until there's nothing left but a thin sac with a big farking worm inside it.

I've always wondered. Sometimes it's fun to blur the lines between Animal Planet and Food Network.

We made lamb kefta last night. No tagine and I over-poached the eggs a little, but it was yummy. Would love to go over there & eat the real deal.
