The Larch: I believe there is a role for public investment in companies that provide some public good that might not otherwise be provided by pure capitalism.But why the hell would any government invest in a video game company? Was Rhode Island afraid that free market was for some reason unable to provide a sufficient number of MMORGs? Given a choice between investing a hundred million on a health care, education, energy, transportation or a video game, they decided a video game was going to improve the quality of the average citizen's life the most?Seriously, what the hell were they thinking?
