(CBC)   Last night the Rags scored more goals than they have all series. If today's teams do that it will look more like a football score than hockey. Game 5 of the 2-2 BOS@MTL series kicks off at 7pm ET & Game 4 of the 1-2 ANA@LAK series at 9:30   ( divider line

brian7dog: caira: Oh my god I love playoff hockey (but my fingernails hate me)

A little weird watching it before midday, with the sun streaming in. Bright side though, gets it out of the way before lunch with the SOS mum

It's funny, you'll see players' pre-game interview for a noon game, and they'll talk about "tonight."

2wolves: Is "Dougie" his real name?  He's an adult for the love of common sense.

Robert Orr and Gordon Howe are very disappointed in him.

RumsfeldsReplacement: soopey: RumsfeldsReplacement: At some point, Claude is going to have to healthy-scratch Marchand to send a message.  He's out of control.

With all the stick holding there has been in this series, he just a crap luck for getting caught.

But he's Marchand.  He's ALWAYS going to get caught.  It comes with the territory of being who he is.  He has to know that.  He needs to calm the fark down and I don't think he will until he actually gets benched for a game.

He only has 6 penalties in 9 games this post season.

WinoRhino: Subban threw a cheap punch.

This happens a lot.  For every good play that he makes, he makes 2 or more idiotic plays.  What a travesty that he was given the Norris Trophy.

An argument that I don't think I've ever seen when talking about NHL officiating and team penalty rates is the possibility - however remote - that some teams might just do more shiat that should be penalized.

I mean, if I create a hockey team and ice a Top 6 set of Chris Neil and Derek Dorsett on the right, Antonine Rousse and Richard Clune on the left, and David Backes and Zac Rinaldo down the middle, then it stands to reason that I'm not going to get a 50/50 penalty split with a lot of other teams I play against (that Top 6 has 300 PIMs more than any team actually got during the 13-14 regular season; 986 vs 650 for Carolina).  Complaining that penalty minute trends over the course of a whole season may be against a certain team totally ignores the possibility that some teams may just actually do more stuff that's a penalty.
