Nope, 2-2 is correct. The Bruins won game 4, 1-0.

Just doing a quick Google search, and Vodka/Gatorade has been done before, but not with a catchy name. I still consider it independently created, like calculus, so good deal.

/will expect to see Giorgio Centauri Hairguy to explain that the drink came from aliens

Go Bracket!

2014-05-10 12:21:15 PM
I did promise the hockey gods that if the Bs won, I would go tonight. I pray that my sacrifice will be acceptable!

Gonna make a day of it - head into town, grab a couple of beahs, soak up the atmosphere that is playoff hockey in Beantown. As a result, won't be on the thread tonight, so;

Let's go, Bruins!
Let's go, Kings!
I vote Slewfoot.

Have fun, and play nice.

The B's need to win this one. Can't keep going lose 1 win 1. They need to pick up a win here in front of the home crowd, gives them a little room in case they lose in Montreal.

Well folks, it comes down to tonight.  As expected Goonjuice made the finals but in a stunning turn of events we have a surprise challenger.

Voting closes at the end of the Ducks/Kings.

Also, we've had a very strong swell of support for creating a cocktail bearing the title of Reggie Dunlop.  The consensus has been it needs to be a little bit sleazy but tasty enough to get the panties loosened.  One suggestion so far has been a Mike's Hard Lemonade with a shot of 151.  Post your drink ideas and let's see if some Farkettes are willing to test things out.  We'll gather a handful of the best but instead of a voting bracket we'll try each one ourselves(multiple times please, let's make sure) and send me an e-mail(in my profile).  I'll tally things up and declare the winner at the start of the Finals.

Well the proper mix of goonjuice is vodka and lemon-lime Gatorade. So if you mix it with say, fruit punch Gatorade, could that be a slewfoot?

Sure. I really didn't have a definition in mind for slewfoot when I threw the idea out there, so I'm open to suggestions.

Two possibile definitions for slewfoot I've come up with while writing this post are you made the drink by pouring one ingredient directly into the other ingredient's bottle instead of mixing them in a glass and now you're drinking it straight from the bottle. Or drinking goonjuice slewfoot could mean you're drinking it out of an old skate, or some other suitably hoboish drinking vessel. Again, suggestions are welcome.

Claude Julien today: "I have no complaints about the refereeing in this series," he said ahead of Game 5. "I think they've done a wonderful job in letting both teams play. And at the end of the night, for the most part, the better team's won."

Told that Julien thought the officials were doing a wonderful job, Montreal coach Michel Therrien roared with laughter.
"I'm sure he said that," he added between chuckles.
Asked for his thoughts on the officials, Therrien smiled and said: "They're doing a great job."

No, the red Gatorade is set aside for my suggestion for the drink.... that nobody seemed to care for it isn't my problem {moons the room}.  Especially those years that Detroit does better than they did this year.

i don't know how my roommate isn't watching hockey right now.  it's really bothering me

2014-05-10 07:00:13 PM
An argument that I don't think I've ever seen when talking about NHL officiating and team penalty rates is the possibility - however remote - that some teams might just do more shiat that should be penalized.

I mean, if I create a hockey team and ice a Top 6 set of Chris Neil and Derek Dorsett on the right, Antonine Rousse and Richard Clune on the left, and David Backes and Zac Rinaldo down the middle, then it stands to reason that I'm not going to get a 50/50 penalty split with a lot of other teams I play against (that Top 6 has 300 PIMs more than any team actually got during the 13-14 regular season; 986 vs 650 for Carolina).  Complaining that penalty minute trends over the course of a whole season may be against a certain team totally ignores the possibility that some teams may just actually do more stuff that's a penalty.

I'm on the road but calculating that I should be home about 10 minutes in, depending on how long they take with talk, anthems, etc.

Also considering a poker game tonight. Hockey or Poker? Decisions....
