FTFA: What did Francis say Friday? He condemned the "economy of exclusion," according to the Associated Press.

Meh.  I only listen to the pope speak about high school confidentials.

I usually hear "hey assholes, try to stop being such colossal assholes, mkay? You're not helping." when he speaks. It seems to be the underlying theme, no matter what specific topic he's addressing.

The important thing, subby, is that you've found a way to feel superior to both sides.

Its still an uphill battle for him when it comes to dealing with assholes.

Quite a few of them are still in positions of power in the Vatican.

So as the biggest land owner in NYC and also tax exempt, how much of his organization's wealth is he planning to redistribute?

The last time I checked, the Catholic church was still against gay marriage and abortion, too.

By actions, this pope is more conservative than the Koch brothers.  Does talking a good game obviate that?

I do think Francis is sincere. Unfortunately the Church is still full of members from its corrupt past in positions of power.

Until the Vatican gets an enema, I dont expect much change even with Francis in charge no matter how hard he tries.

Well, both sides could. Republicans wants to destroy the country socially and Democrats want to destroy the country financially. So pick your method of destruction or just sit on the fence until both sides kill each other...then steal their wallets.

The Pope is one of the most influential people on Earth, so it's fairly important what he has to say. While I don't agree with him on everything, the tone he's setting is a massive improvement over what the US Bishops have been pushing for quite a few years now. Hopefully they'll start following his lead, instead of trying to get into bed with the Dominionists. End of the day, those evangelicals are not the friends of Catholics. Same goes for the Mormons who've been trying to cozy up with them.

To go Godwin for a moment, mostly for a lack of being able to come up with a better analogy: It's like the gypsies and Marxists teaming up with the Nazis against the Jews. Eventually they're going to come after you, too.

Bob Robert: TerminalEchoes: and Democrats want to destroy the country financially.

Is that why Clinton fixed the Reagan debt mess and Obama is fixing the Bush debt mess?

TerminalEchoes: So pick your method of destruction or just sit on the fence until both sides kill each other...then steal their wallets.

Since I showed why your claim of Democrats ruining the country financially is an often repeated myth with no factual basis, your argument falls apart completely.

It doesn't matter how many people line up to biatch-slap this idiot in the face with reality and facts; it's like being embarrassingly ignorant is a point of pride.

The Pope is having the church house illegal immigrants from Africa in various places. And he's put his foot down that the law in regards to immigrants is not exactly just. That's not exactly a conservative position.

What does this even mean? I think it can be safely assumed the the Pope would be speaking to Catholics when he instructs his followers to be better people.

Incidentally, THAT'S why republicans hate him. They can babble about socialism all they want but the real reason is that he challenges them to change their ways and act like decent human beings. They simply aren't up to the task.

Difference: Liberals have been routinely brow-beaten with the opinions of religious figures, so it's nice when a religious figure takes on the conservatives for a change.
