Sounds more like a scandal than a photo op.

I voted for Kerry in 2004, but I knew he had farked up his campaign over the incident with the cheesesteak (which had never eaten one before in his entire life). You just cannot eat a philly in a delicate and dignified manner like you're at some 5 star restaurant. You have to wolf the bastard down Klingon-style.

Once people based their votes on who governed the best. Now they base it on whether someone looks good while stuffing food in their face.

This is why we can't have nice things.

Well people have voted for politicians in places and at certain times for maybe as much as 3000 years, so I think even by random chance voting for who government the best happening once is a reasonable assumption. No idea how you would work out when that once instance was though.

I've never seen that first one of Bachmann, where she's both astonished and mortified by the fluid about to erupt all over the corndog.  Gonna...gonna have to think about this for a minute.

Well played with the 'obvious' tag, subby. Why in the blue fark did we need an article about it? And from BBC, no less. I would have expected this from DailyFail, with a whole bunch of shots of politicians eating the food in question.

Don't be silly. It isn't just about eating the same food, it's also about supporting the same sports teams. If you're not giving hundreds of millions of public money to billionaires for a new stadium or arena every few years, you're pretty much a commie who should be driven out of office and dumped in a pit.

Considering how every presidential election involves a LOT of sucking up through Bumfarkistan, Iowa...why the hell do politicians of their campaign managers allow themselves to be photographed eating a corn dog? There is no upside to it, you only run the risk of a Dukakian photo-op. At the very least, have the candidate eat it by breaking pieces off.

Csb. Once, on a business trip to Toronto I had a kid with me who had never been ouside of New Brunswick. I'm pretty sure Fredericton was the biggest city he'd ever seen. Anyhow I took everyone to a Greek place near Pearson airport the night I was flying out (the kid was staying for a week). He privately asked me abou the food, as in what he might like. I'm ashamed to admit, I didn't screw with him on the entree, souvlaki. But, man, the octopus in lemon sauce appetizer...
