fusillade762: local laws granted for adult possession and consumption does not extend to smoking 'openly and publicly or in a manner that endangers others.'"Now I'm just trying to imagine how you could accomplish that.
Walker: Legalize it! Oh wait, it is."It's a private event, on private property," Bond told 7NEWS."Public means open to the public," Martinez said. "In a place where people can view other people, conducting, in this case the consumption of marijuana, which is prohibited."WTF??? It's a private event on private property. This guy says if you can view other people you're in public? Using his definition a private party in a private residence is a public place.
That Guy...From That Show!: FTA: "The symphony's Kern responded with a statement saying, "As a responsible and civic-minded organization, the Colorado Symphony take the issues raised by the City of Denver very seriously. We're reviewing the issues with our legal team. When the Colorado Symphony accepted support from the legal cannabis industry -- as a means of supporting our financial operations and connecting with a culturally diverse audience -- we believed we did so in full compliance with the law. We're confident that any questions can be resolved quickly. We will issue a more detailed response after a thorough internal review." "I support what they're doing but throwing some BS like that in there is a bit lame.
firefly212: F off, city of Denver, this expansion of the term "public" to mean private places that are viewable by the public effectively would make peoples homes public if they didn't have the curtains drawn... this interpretation of law is totally unsustainable with any reasonable standard.
Mr. Right: This is pretty much the argument that restaurant, bar and cigar bar owners tried to make when the anti-smoking crowd was getting the anti-smoking laws passed. Good luck with that.
HindiDiscoMonster: you can't just call bingo and not tell us what numbers you got.... I mean we do have to verify your win you know.
bphlater: Pot, the drug that makes stupid people more stupid.
adamatari: Alas, the current trend is the opposite - smoking even cigarettes is illegal in public parks. Of course, dumb laws promote lawbreaking, and frankly the cops are unlikely to bust you for a beer on the beach or a cigarette, but the law is there.
ModernLuddite: I have been waiting for the marijuana legislation to hit the anti-smoking legislation.People seem to think that "legal weed" means you can just light up anywhere. HA HA!
jtown: [images.starpulse.com image 440x662]/was drunk in private//they threw me into public
HindiDiscoMonster: Iczer: Dude, Gustav Holst's The Planets suite would be freaking awesome to listen to stoned...not Mars.... that might harsh your buzz.... to war-like and ominous.... but the others, yeah.
bmwericus: Living here, I have to be amazed at how the Gov't took a simple idea like legalizing weed and turn it into such a total cluster job. Seriously, I'm starting to think that we were better off when it was still illegal, at least we did not have to deal with the 24/7 pants-wetter coverage of "Marijuana in Colorado! OMG! LOOK at where someone smoked a joint!", it's going on everywhere and it's as if we are supposed to take it seriously. We did not vote for the derpfest it's become. I hold out hope for national legalization to drop the level of silliness but pants-wetting is a lifestyle/job for a lot of these people and it's hard to adjust when your industry undergoes radical sudden changes. But you know, the out of work Turnkeys, Jailers, Cops, Lawyers, and Rehab Center people should just be bootstrappy like they tell everyone else, get some retraining so that they can become useful members of society. The world needs ditch diggers and septic tank pumpers and it's an appropriate lateral move for most of them, who feel drug users are human garbage already.Praise Jah that some common sense is ascendant in this nation. Wish there was a lot more, but I'll take what little victories are offered, Jah knows they are few and far between.
