The crazy people have invaded those comments. I hope the militia tards lose their gun rights. Molon Labe, indeed. More like moron label.

That article keeps referring to the "I-Team" and I just keep picturing the news team from Anchorman.

Yeah the comments look like a stormfront/NRA/WND/Free republic circle jerk. Some weapons grade treason, racism, and outright stupidity.

It has been a while. I think we're ready for another one.

I'm surprised people at that intersection of crazy and stupid can actually afford computers and internet connections. Perhaps inpatient mental hospitals have community computers for their patients to use? That might explain lots of things, actually.

True, but I bet they're high on the probability list of the gun people who accidentally shoot themselves while cleaning their Glock.

aaaaand that's as far as I got. Armed militants have taken over a town, and we're surprised that the FBI is involved?

That was my takeaway, too. In 2014, they still have the "I-Team" gimmick going.

It is illegal to point loaded weapons at federal agents

This is a strange claim. If the crime is a threat or interference with official duties, an unloaded gun is just as illegal as a loaded gun. The perception is what matters, not the reality. If the crime is attempted shooting, that takes more than a bullet in the chamber to prove.

I'm not actually sure it's against a federal law, but there are plenty of state laws in Arizona on the subject of threatening and intimidation WRT firearms.  The fact that it's loaded might just add a level of reckless endangerment to the charges (since it could discharge unintentionally).

But, if the guy pointing the gun is a Responsible Gun OwnerTM, then:

1. A gun is always loaded
2. A gun is never pointed at anything you don't want to destroy

Right?

I'm no fan of the BLM or Harry Reid, and I think Bundy is only technically in the wrong, and what I have to say is.... Good.

Even if the federal government is over-reaching and slowly suffocating legimate enterprises by an ever-encroaching regulatory state, you don't go pointing your guns at officers (who have wives, children, and friends of their own) who are there on standby as the situation is worked out.

They get the idea just by you being there armed. I swear it. So, go to jail, assholes.

Good. That farking clown has no business owning guns legally if that's how he's going to behave with them.

Arrest him and confiscate all his weapons and ban him from ever owning a firearm legally again.

I wonder how this can be interpreted...  for example, since we have missiles in silos that can target any spot on earth, are they technically pointing at federal agents right now?  drones in the sky?  plus, how can they prove he was pointing it at the agents and not a spot five feet above the agents?  what about an undercover agent whose cover is a stripper? pretty sure there may be a few loaded weapons pointed her way.

lastly, what is the limits of punishment for this crime...federal agents point guns at you, you raise your weapon and point at them.  Now that you have committed a crime, do they have the right to shoot you since you are doing something illegal?

I loved the argument "did the officers notice that the sniper was aimed at them? He was hiding after all. Maybe they didn't know their lives were being threatened at the time in which case it cannot be assault."

Don't have to kill them. National Guard has been used to beat up hippies without killing most of them, so why not put some fear in the nuts on the other side. Just see how high and mighty they act when they try and take a shot at an IFV, because their guns will surely protect them from the gub'mint. Can also put their counter-insurgency training to good use, I think their most recent one was countering a right wing threat?

Right? I'm going out on a limb and suggesting that the Fibbies have had their eyes on a few of these guys for quite a while, and couldn't be more thrilled that they posted hundreds of photographs of themselves interfering with federal agents going about their duties.

There used to be places where the mentally ill could go and be treated for their paranoid delusions.
And those places weren't called State House, Capitol, NRA meeting, gun show, or Tea Party Rally.
