Starbucks should absolutely make a limited run of his drawings on cups. (With appropriate markup)

Play up the "Even the container is unique and special, just like the coffee" angle. Pay him some money and slap his picture around the corporate office on the off-chance that something in marketing opens up. Then encourage other baristae to do the same thing.

Wrong. I'm actually pretty decent when it comes to the arts, but I've focused more on writing and music. I'm published, so I must be doing something right. My first time being published was in an internationally-distributed periodical when I was in my early teens (a long time ago). They paid me 16 bucks, which would have been equivalent to around six hours working minimum wage at that time. `Not bad for a kid who is too young to actually get a job. I've made a living at art during various periods of my life. I still get royalties from time to time. I do OK. I'm no superstar, but I'm no slouch.

However, my comment was regarding the fact that his (fairly repetitive) figures and themes take him  40 hours, which is ridiculous considering how average it is. It doesn't suck-- It's just bland. Most halfway decent artists could crank out something like his most complex cups in an hour or two. How he takes 40 hours is beyond me. I can only assume he is missing an arm or draws with his feet-- THAT might be impressive.

"putain" is more "cheap dirty whore", it's a much more vulgar term

the short version is also used regularly, more with longer expressions: pute

1)  "enfant du pute" (literal: child of a dirty whore), with in English doesn't really work, so is usually more direct: "your mother was a dirty whore".

2) "espèce de pute" (literal: type of whore) that's translate more like "you freaking whore"

Hooker is more like a step up and translate to "prostituée" (prostitute)

Some other terms: asphalteuse, béguineuse, belle-de-nuit, boucanière, cocotte, coureuse, courtisane, croqueuse, demi-mondaine, femme de mauvaise vie, femme de petite vertu, femme galante, femme légère, femme publique, fille, fille de joie, fille de mauvaise vie, fille des rues, fille galante, fille légère, fleur de macadam, gaupe, geisha, gourgandine, grue, hétaïre, horizontale, maquerelle, marchande d'amour, marmite, michetonneuse, peau, péripatéticienne, pétasse, pierreuse, raccrocheuse, racoleuse, sirène, souris, talonneuse, tapin, tapineuse, taxi, trimardeuse, turfeuse, bagasse  (vieux, vulgaire, péjoratif), catin  (familier), garce  (péjoratif), goton  (vieux), gueuse  (péjoratif), marie-couche-toi-là  (populaire), ménesse  (populaire), morue  (argotique, vulgaire, péjoratif), moukère  (populaire, vieux), pouffiasse  (familier, vulgaire, péjoratif), poufiasse  (argotique), poule  (familier, vulgaire, péjoratif), professionnelle  (familier), prostipute  (PejArgPop), putain  (familier, vulgaire), pute  (vulgaire, péjoratif), ribaude  (PejArgPop, vieux), roulure  (vulgaire), traînée  (populaire)

Well, it says "some of which take 40 hours to complete", so it's likely that someone just asked "what's the longest you ever..?" and there were just one or two with lots of little details or some extraordinary circumstance that took close to 40 hours.

Or maybe he had to start over with the earlier ones until he had gotten used to the material and the curved surface.
Or speaking of surface material (I don't know Starbucks cups), maybe the color needs time to sink in and he has to take frequent breaks to avoid smearing when he needs to alter the grip on the cup.

I wasn't sure, but based on my knowledge of Spanish I was guessing "putain" meant something close to "prostitute."  "Hijo de puta" is a pretty common insult in Spanish-speaking countries.
