Did the whole spectrum shift, or is the middle a wasteland?

I think the foundry is a good name since it's a place for manufacturing things.

2014-05-08 11:37:33 AM
Well, that means that they'll finally be job creators for more than just publishing firms and printers...

2014-05-08 11:48:58 AM
I do think it will be humorous to think of folks from deep in the Heritage Foundation having to deal with the unions of the crews that will actually work their studios.

Heritage Foundation:

Your new blog sucks.

/surprised the market for right-wing paranoia isn't overestimated already

2014-05-08 01:01:16 PM
Yeah just what we need--another stupid conservative-driven media outlet.

2014-05-08 01:01:20 PM
I guess being able to send a toady to f*ck up every media conversation regardless of outlet just wasn't enough.

2014-05-08 01:01:31 PM
I just got a new channel called One America News. When going to and coming back from commercials they play snippets of Reagan, or flash some quote about watering the tree of liberty or making the government fear its people.

2014-05-08 01:02:12 PM
So a 24 hour channel that just has someone screeching in German and throwing fecies at the camera?

2014-05-08 01:04:49 PM
With blackjack and hookers?

Stupid people are the easiest market to reach.

It's called "towing" the line subby.  It comes from an old Navy phrase where all of the sailors were ordered to work together to tow a ship into port by its lines.

I think it's sad these days that kids don't learn this in school.  We reap what we sew.

Will they actually have to if they set up somewhere like Atlanta or Charlotte?

Is there a lot of commercials for hoverounds on that channel?

So, herp.com?

They're also going to film a reality TV show about the making of the news service - "WDRP in Cincinnati".

They could set up in Seattle. It's already got a ready for Nazi broadcast infrastructure. It would be lulzy.

Just what we need: A channel of rabid right-wing fuglies* lying in order to terrify the old, the gullible, and the stupid.

*Because using attractive talking hairdos to infrom them wasn't bad enough.

2014-05-08 01:12:34 PM
The Heritage Foundation (HF) also started the ACA and look where that landed; implemented by democrats then the HF was hijacked by Jim Demint and he spends a good chunk of the fdn's time and money trying to get it repealed.
They should think this one through a little more thoroughly

I found a factual error in the article...

Sources familiar with the think tank's plans said Heritage would be hiring additional reporters and bloggers for the project.

Heritage will only be hiring bloggers.  If they hire reporters, they'll have to start dealing with facts and reality... the mess it would create would be enormous.

Viewing Washington DC from down here on the farm, I consider both the Heritage Foundation and the American Enterprise Institute as being economic terrorist organizations dead set on overthrowing the United States of America as we know it and turning it into a vassal state for a handful of international mega corporations. And they are already 3/4 of the way there in accomplishing their goal.

After being ignored or grossly downplayed by all of the current networks, at last a media provider will be giving the Benghazi scandal the attention and the coverage that it truly deserves.

Actually that's incorrect too.  The correct phrase is "t'owe the line".

It originated in Victorian sports books.  When wagering on a cricket game, if too many bets were made on one side of the "line" (the odds) that would put a bookie in danger of having to pay out more money than they took in if the side with larger bets won. In essence, when this happened, it looked like you were heading "to owe the line"...  later shortened to "t'owe the line".

I can't really recall commercials advertising anything other than the channel itself.

Well, there's no shortage of idiots to lap up the stuff they vomit out, so if they're willing to throw enough money at it, are patient, and have one of the psychopaths in their org run it rather than one of the "true believers," then this new "news service" really could become a major player.

Glenn Beck would be a perfect fit as general manager.

Ye Gods, there's no telling how much damage these guys could do via manipulating the votes of stupid people.

I say let them reinforce the echo chamber. If that is the sort of thing they want to waste their money on more power to them.

This has been tried before by an offshoot of Heritage. It didn't work that time. Fox News took them out of business. How do they think it's going to work this time?
