Also, I heard somewhere that more cops have died as a result of 9/11 illness than died during 9/11. I can't remember where I've heard this before, but I've heard it more than once now so it must be true. I wish someone would submit an article about how more cops have died as a result of 9/11 illness than died during 9/11. That would be a good topic. It might even take more than one thread to fully discuss it.

The number of cops claiming disability from 9/11-related injury and illness now higher than the number of cops who were actually at Ground Zero.

Any reliable epidemiological evidence to support/refute claims that these deaths are due to 9/11  exposure? The JAMA study did not seem to bear that out definitively, published in 2012 (so several years of follow up). There does seem to be a demonstrable rise in respiratory dysfunction, as well as PTSD, but can anyone really know these deaths are from 9/11 exposure?

This.

"First responders who were at ground zero" now outnumber "people who were at woodstock", although both numbers continue to grow rapidly.

kvinesknows: How many people were pulled out of the rubble  alive after 9/11?

Just three that were above ground. The office worker who surfed down the wreckage on a collapsed section of wall. Plus two cops who fell into it during search and rescue later that day.

Well then, lesson learned. Don't have a 9/11.

Lsherm: Still pales in comparison to the people doing the real work that day (firefighters).

Which pales in comparison to white collar workers. So?
