A file photo of Darth Vader.

Thanks so much for that, Metro News. What Darth Vader looked like had completely escaped my memory. Was he a chipmunk? A clown with a big red nose? Did he look a bit like a bottlenose dolphin? I was totally drawing a blank.

FTFA:

After a call to 911, the police launched a search for the suspect and found her a short distance away. She was still wearing the Darth Vader mask.

There's your problem. If you commit a crime in disguise, ditch the disguise soon afterwards.

Brilliant headline subby. Too bad this article didn't appear 3 days earlier - that would have been an awesome coincidence.

Yo, it's the squeeze of five fingers, puffin Smokey the Bear
shining black like Darth Vader caps, they on stare
While we rockin it, I'll rock in it
Like the little ball inside the spray can
Providing three coats for both child, woman, and man

This is where I go all Star Wars nerd on you.

That was Obi Wan.
In fact, the Jedi mind trick has only been used by 3 characters.  Obi Wan, Luke, and QuiGon.  Vader never once used it.  Although, Anakin used it to calm an animal once.

Dumbass should've told the arresting officers:  "I'm your father".  She would have walked.

Well, yeah.  But even while I was writing that, I couldn't think of a solid canon story where another character used it.  I've read a lot.  But not everything.
Feel free to cite an example.

Hey, you said you were going Star Wars nerd, I was merely attempting to out-nerd you.

Example:  Jedi Master Yarael Poof was particularly adept in the affect mind ability.   He is found in a multitude of Expanded Universe canon.

There are examples of Mara Jade, Corran Horn, Mace Windu and even Yoda using Jedi mind tricks as well.

I was told last night that Disney has said since they are doing new movies in the same timeframe as the books, all the old canon is now non-canon, and only the movies are canon.

So now all those books are just fanfic.

I think you'll find that the continuity tracking database (or "Holocron") is much more complex than dumping everything that is not movies into the classification of "fanfic".

I'm sure there is a ton of slashfic too in there. ;-)

But if what I was told is correct, retconning almost all of canon is so nasty I could see some fan revolution. Perhaps even a split to create a "True canon" and a "Disney canon". And if they do that, maybe the could retcon Ep 1-3 away...

The suspect, a 20-year-old Vancouver woman, was arrested without incident and found to be in possession of a fake gun. Fincham said police will be requesting charges for robbery with a firearm and weapons offences.

Wait, what?
