The Los Angeles Jaguars won't be a small market team Johnny.  Just sayin'....

2014-05-08 08:41:10 AM
He's going to wind up with the Cowboys. Johnny and Jerry are a douchebag pair made for each other. It will be like watching a show where the only two characters are Ted Mosby.

If by "announcing" you mean "disputed report from an unknown source"

Not gonna happen.

Whoever wastes their first rounder on him can't say the warning signs weren't there.

Welcome to Jax Johnny Douchebag. The good news is if they dont take you, Cleveland probably will lol!!

HA HA!  He just doesn't want to play for the Cleveland Browns.  HA HA

Ah, predraft, the only time of the year when you can be absolutely sure that whatever "news" comes from the team or "sources" is 100% BS disinformation. Because there's no reason for a team to put out information that affects the draft, and subsequently millions of dollars, when drafting is entirely based on the thoughts, feelings, notions, and reactions to other teams, right?

I'm honestly surprised that the handlers don't tell players to keep their damn mouths shut; all they could possibly do is screw up the dance that all the GMs and coaches do with each other. The Rams TRIED to hyperinflate the value of pick #2 by insinuating that we we're interested in JF or Bridgewater, but then half-assed it with public appearances and repeated "he's our guy" statements about Bradford. Now we'll end up with an OLine guy (which is fine) but had they stuck to the disinformation campaign, we could probably get a couple 1st rounders from the Raiders or Cowboys. The Skins and Browns learned their lessons.

I'm rooting for my team to draft HaHa Clinton-Dix, just based on his name alone

Days like today make me happy to be a Packers fan. No draft hype. No crazed owner/GM to fark things up. Just wait till its our time, get the right guy. Part of me hopes he goes to MN so he can freeze his ass off the next 2 seasons at TCF Stadium while the new ship is getting built for the Vikings

Is the stupid tag for yourself subtard? Because the actual article just says he doesn't want to play in Jacksonville and it didn't say it was because a small market

2014-05-08 09:15:59 AM
Wasn't Manziel quoted as saying he would play for any team just a few months ago?  Maybe I'm remembering incorrectly.

You really think his career will last longer than the Jaguars ill fated move to London, then L.A.?

Ten years from now you will be in a sports bar and you will hear a commotion behind you.  You will turn to see a slightly balding man in an A&M polo-shirt screaming at the bartender "Don't you know who I am!?  I'm Johnny Football!"

This dude is turning into the Beiber of the football world.

Well you are Jonnie Mop-Bucket now.  Hurry up, the crapper overflowed again and I think Darla over there puked on the jukebox again.

The kid can throw.  He's certainly better than Tim Tebow will ever be.

But If he pulls those running stunts he's going to be squished like a bug.

I hope Jaws is right about this guy and that he, at best, will stick around as a backup somewhere. I'm so sick of hearing about this guy!

I'm going with somewhere between Ryan Leaf and Tim Couch.

Well that was Eli's concern when he did it as well.  Didn't have anything to do with San Diego being a smaller market team, he just didn't want to play for the Chargers.  And really, after watching his dad waste his whole career stuck playing for a crappy team can you really blame him?

If he sticks around as a backup, it'll be a media manufactured QB controversy every year until he retires.

Silly subby, you don't go full Manning until you have two superbowl rings to your name!

/Sorry Peyton, that was a low blow...

If he's not a total idiot, he'll have enough money to never work again, no matter what team drafts him.

So, yes, he'll likely end up cleaning toilets.

Perhaps a team plays better when their rookie quarterback doesn't believe himself bigger than the game.

What if Manziel gets drafted by (Insert horrible team here) and Tebow is also brought in to training camp as a possible 3rd string/H-Back?  Controversy on top of controversy?

No, a team plays better when their rookie quarterback plays better.  Jim Kelly initially fled to the USFL to avoid Buffalo.  Few would argue that the Bills were better with him than without him.  John Elway told the Baltimore Colts to piss up a rope.  I doubt Denver would trade one start in the 16 year career of this "drama queen".

All Tampa sports radio is talking about today is how the Bucs are gunning for him.

I have been seeing that in the mock drafts as well.

I'd rather they took a receiver, but they don't listen to me.

Funny you mention that, as I'm actively chatting with a friend in TB about the draft and he said that there's much talk of the Bucs trading up to #2 to get Watkins.

Whomever drafts Bridgewater is going to get a serious bargain

He's already got that kind of money. The Manziel family has a pretty fascinating history.

There's a reason that one of the best breeds of fighting roosters is the Manziel Grey, for example. Johnny's grandpa was basically the world champion of cockfighting.

I guess that I wouldn't complain about that (because Watkins is a freak), but I wonder what they would have to give up.

Mike Evans seems awfully good, too.

In that family, it's long been about who's got the biggest or toughest cock.

Johnny's behavior displays this quite clearly.

The Raiders will pass on him, just like they did with Marino, Favre, etc...

Toronto and Montreal are both large market CFL teams, so I could definitely see him winding up being happy there.

As long as the Titans don't get him I don't really care where he ends up

Here's the thing, if you draft Manziel you will get jersey sales and a media circus and people will want to watch the games for the spectacle - more tickets sold, higher ad fees, more attention.  Will he help you win?  Probably not.  But so what.  If you are Jacksonville, you aren't going to win a lot of games this year anyways.  But you can make a little money while losing or make a decent amount of money while losing.  Why not make some extra cash as your team plays itself into the gutter and draft Manziel.  Print up a bunch of jerseys, embrace the circus.  market the hell out of it.  and maybe you get lucky and he doesn't shiat the bed.

Manning also has a couple Super Bowls.
