flynn80: The EPA knew or should have known this was going to be a problem because the Towers themselves were going to require billions in renovations to remove aebestos (that's why Silverstein was able to buy the buildings for so cheap).  This was massive criminal negligence at the least and mass murder at the worst.

But Asbestosis takes many more years to present itself.  That said, undoubtedl first responders, residents, lookie-loos probably injested a whole host of crap while down there, the effects of which may not be know for many years.

wickedragon: Friction8r: fusillade762: Friction8r: jso2897: More people died in our pointless, idiot responses to 9/11 than died on 9/11 - by several orders of magnitude.

Our response in Afghanistan was well deserved and an excellent reminder to the world not to screw with us. Also we improved out military technology in the process. ..which is nice.

Yes, an excellent reminder that we can be provoked into expending massive amounts of treasure and lives to accomplish almost nothing.

No, its a reminder to the world that if we are attacked we can reach out to any corner of the world and offer up a completely thorough can of incomprehensible whoopass on short notice. I hope we don't have to remind anybody again now for several more decades, but those who don't learn from history seemed doomed to repeat it. I think they got the message for now.

I take it as a reminder that if the US was a person, he's the person that will respond to someone shiatting on their lawn by driving a tank into the house of a random guy he doesn't like and then start shooting the kids of the dude who did the shiatting.

Well that's cute. Love me some Kooky libs. The FECKLESS crowd. Perfect example:

Well, even though we got humiliated and run out of the country by a bunch of goatherds with 1950s weapons, we've won the war of the internet tough guys. They got the message alright - the message that Americans are loudmouthed, bullying pussies who start fights they can't finish - like Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, and so on.
Meanwhile, our actual attackers, the Saudis, are safe because they have oil.

Please feel free to tell any of the troops who served in Afghanistan that we lost the war...to goatherds and 50 ' s weapons as well. Good luck with that.

I'm sure their families will be getting some of that 9-11 fund to help with medical costs any day now.

ongbok: Mark Ratner: I blame the Jews, thermite, and Joe Buck.

Jews???????

I understand thermite and Joe Buck, but Jews?

Jews were armed and none died.
Debunked.
Jews owned and profited on the attack.
Debunked.
Jews with ties to Mossad were retained and deported after being found on a rooftop filming the attacks and celebrating.
Yeah. That did happen. That they were likely thinking that the US had to respond in force and they were less alone in the fight doesn't register with antisemite Truthers.

I read the comments under TFA and immediately contracted brain cancer. My favorite line from a comment,
"Here is the greatest FACT they don't want exposed: Aluminum in free space can not fully penetrate a larger piece of structural steel at subsonic speed "
I suspect this story will have the truthers coming out of the woodwork.
