(CityNews Toronto)   Rob Ford IS NOT in rehab, but says he is. Really. Trust him. He hasn't had a history of lying about stuff like this or anything. That lady who spotted him at the local Tim Hortons? She was wrong. That was his brother, Doug. They look exactly alike   ( divider line

Once I heard that he was making campaign calls and doing interviews, I suspected he wasn't really in rehab. He told the Toronto Sun "rehab is amazing". I'm pretty sure that if you can hold (or even fake) that opinion shortly after going in, you're either NOT in rehab, or you're doing it wrong.

FTFA: "One long-time addiction specialist told CityNews it would be out of the ordinary to allow a new patient to make calls."

Yup. If he is in a rehab and making phone calls, it probably is one of those faux rehabs like on Celebrity Rehab. The first part of rehab is almost always isolation as one detoxes physically and mentally so the addict has some base to start with.

I feel for the guy, but he has to do it himself. When I think of people who have far less support doing the right thing in rehab, my sympathy for like Ford lessens. I hope he does well, but he seems to be surrounded by enablers. Shame.

The next time I hear a Torontonian use the phrase "world class city" It will require all my willpower to keep from rudely laughing
