Oh god, I HOPE it's unrelated to that. I'd hate to see a resurgence of the Macarena in a desparate effort to save the starfish.

Rule 42?

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Rule%2042&defid=343340 9
The general rule that you should always bring a towel just in case you do something stupid so at least people will say "Hey that guy/gal really knows where their towel is". Coincidentally this is also the meaning of life and all questions because all answers can be deprived from 42 an example of this would be: How many minutes dose it take to make a marshmallow peep answer 42 because 4+2=6 and it takes 6 minuets to make. Part of the 100+ general rules of the universe.

Or do you mean Rule 34?

Generally accepted internet rule that states that pornography or sexually related material exists for any conceivable subject.

Additionally it is accepted that the rule itself has limitations and you cannot be too specific on the content of the item in question.

Most commonly used on various message boards for various reasons, from humor to cruelty.

Yeah, it's probably due to something that isn't happening:

Cue the tards to come in and tell us how the ocean ate their global warming, and that THE WARMING SHALL RISE AGAIN!!!...just like for the last 15+ years.

On other side of the spectrum: few words and a lot of derp.

Why does you chart begin at 1996? That seems like an arbitrary starting point.  Also it seems that your chart covers 20 years two and a half of which have not yet occurred.  That seems like an awfule short time period to be measuring climate.  Now maybe it's just me and I'm being touchy so please don't be offended but it seems as if you are a lying sack of shiat with zero credibility and are cherry picking data to confirm your bias.

White lesions appear on the arms of the sea stars -- commonly called starfish. Very quickly, they begin to deteriorate until their arms fall off.

Jesus Christmas you lying fark stick. I thought we had finally shamed you out of using that misleading chart. But noooooooooo.

Jackass.
Here's a hint folks, if you run that chart back 100 years, it goes up like a motherfarker. You can use his own link to do it. The reason lying assholes like him use that starting point is 98 was off the charts for hot, so everything since then slopes down. Oh, my bad, it used to slope down, but Temps keep increasing so much that now level is the best he can do.

If you graph it from the Haden Era, the temp goes down massively. Even more so if you graph it from the Planck Era of the Universe.

It couldn't possibly have anything to do with dumping massive quantities of sewage into the ocean.

It's not as if dead zones where this occurs aren't already a common thing globally.

We should totally keep on doing that.

In fact, look at how quickly the temperature is dropping in this graph! Why, we all better stock up on fur coats and electric blankets if we want to live out this decade! It's even worse here:

Some even blamed radioactive water from the Fukushima nuclear plant disaster in Japan. The Multi-Agency Rocky Intertidal Network, or MARINe, ruled that out in January.
"There has been substantial speculation in the media that the disease could be a result of increased radiation from the nuclear power plant disaster in Fukushima, Japan. We have no evidence to suggest that radiation is a likely culprit," the agency said on its website.

Here's the global warming that you're looking for, all 22 years of it. Doesn't that seem like a rather short period to you?
The carbon dioxide that you're worried about appeared in 1950, but there was a cool period from 1945 to 1975. Above is the warming period which followed the cool period, ignoring what the temperature was before the cool period.

Dozens of times a minute, a carbon-14 atom in your DNA changes to nitrogen. You haven't dissolved into goo yet. It takes a lot of radiation to affect a bunch of organisms.
