(Daily Star)   Two-week-long summer in Britain could be spoiled this year by manhole-cover sized jellyfish washing up on popular beaches. With pic of what a manhole-cover sized jellyfish looks like, and yeah, that would keep anyone at home   (dailystar.co.uk) divider line 61

BitwiseShift: I remember them being purple. Why foodies don't have them on a menu by now is a mystery.

Peanut butter and Jelly fish sandwiches on gluten free flatbread panera with artisanal wasabi mayonnaise. And organic garden fresh free range nori.

Wear a bib.
Don't want it getting on your neckbeard, now.

"Bathers were warned to watch out for the Portuguese man o'war, which floats just below the water's surface and has stings that can cause serious injury. "

I don't think this reporter knows the first thing about jellyfish, they float on top of the water, which is good because these bastards sting worst than just about anything.

LegacyDL: The UK has beaches???

Just short of twenty thousand miles.

"The mapping authority for the United Kingdom, the Ordnance Survey, records the coastline of the main island, Great Britain, as 11,072.76 miles rounding to 11,073 miles (17,820 km). If the larger islands are added the coastline, as measured by the standard method at Mean High Water Mark, rises to about 19,491 miles (31,368 km)."
It's crinkly round the edges.
