strutindoes this mean I can post the picture of the car plowing into the cyclists?

It all depends on what view you had of Logan Airport on 9/11

FlyingJ: ElLocoWho is 'Little E?' Google tells me it's a jazz club or something.

You're close-it's a guy who owns an overpriced latter day shiatkicker/hip-hop bar in a mall in the Financial District of downtown Charlotte http://www.yelp.com/biz/whisky-river-charlotte

Dude.

No one calls him "Little E".

They call him "Junior". If you are going to be denigrating at least get the name right.

Sad about the pilot and the Stearman though.

anotar: My guess is loss of power to some degree or other.
Sad no matter how you look at it.

I'm kinda thinking a stupid and very brief instance of forgetting that while inverted you need to push the stick forward to go up instead of pulling it back

styckx: That's a strange crash. Was almost like a microburst just pushed it down. No violent movements or anything.

Looks like the engine may have quit while he was upside down if the exhaust trail is any indication.  Or, since he was 77, he just had an aneurysm and died.

There are old pilots, and there are bold pilots, but there are no old bold pilots.

"This is not what you want to see at an air show." Ric Romero wannabe Urso Chappell tweeted.

/no report on what Urso actually wanted to see.

That'd be the sort of mistake only a non-pilot would make. Are you suggesting that Dr Sam Beckett quantum-leaped into his body seconds before the crash?

That would explain why he never returned home.

Nocrash: Four Horsemen of the Domestic Dispute: This is one reason I don't go to air shows.

The second reason being my fear of being crashed into.

I love airshows and go to many. Have seen some bad crashes. Always have a place to run. Never sit in the bleachers. Inverted low flying always very risky. Last year a biplane went in while inverted with a wingwalker because the engine sputtered. Glad I didn't see it. Love flyi g hate crashes

FAA does not allow aerobatic maneuvers over the people at airshows...the crowd line is at least 200 feet from the runway.  The other crash mentioned earlier was a modified P-51 at a race, not performing aerobatics.

Old_Chief_ScottDude. No one calls him "Little E".

Eh? read upthread, I was quoting another Farker's post...but if you're worried, when I met him I called him "Dale".  When I met The King, I called him "Mr. Petty".  I referred to Brad Keselowski as 'Brad', & I referred to Joe Logano as "Joey", which is far better than most Farkers. Please inform me if any other protocols were violated.

forgot to add but no, I wasn't blown away by Whisky River...& neither were the Yelpers(why did his sister close their scrapbook store?)  Still you're right, it absolutely sucks that this old guy @ the airshow who put his heart into it dies @ the stick, but then we fall into the "die doing what you love" argument which was invoked repeatedly for Paul Walker's passing...

Oh FFS. These old people should even be driving let alone flying a farking plane. WTF is wrong with everyone?

I am a big aviation fan and enjoy airshows, but I could really care less about these low level aerobatic stunts. I prefer prop warbirds and all types of jets.  The biplanes, the pitts specials, extras, etc just bore me, when they fly is when I spend my time checking out the static displays. I used to like low level action by the warbirds, but my views have changed with too many good men and women, and too many airplanes destroyed. Just give me some high speed passes and a few wingovers- I don't need to see low level loops and rolls and the susequent firery crash on you tube.

FTGodWin: Anayalator: strangeluck: Anayalator:

How old? Prior greenlight?

Not repeat. Crash happened Sunday. You know, along time ago.

Well, don't let the Followup tag, or the fact the story is about the NTSB get in the way of posting an irrelevant image.

After all, your failure to express snark is what's important.

What's important is that this was a boring farking story 3 days ago, and slapping a lame new headline and an insignificant update doesn't make it better. Dry your tears, sweetheart.
