hervatski: His wife was pretty hot

His first wife was, and his trophy will probably bail once she realizes the comeback ain't gonna happen. He's a great lead singer in another time. But time has taken its toll on him and his marketplace.

I always thought he was underrated and would have been more successful in a better band (Skid Row sucked). Swap him in for Gary Cherone in Extreme and change the name to something less ghey and that might have worked.

Metal isnt dead, it just has a hangover.

More to the point, metal really has not changed... at all in the last few decades. Its the same blues scale based speed/thrash sound it always was. The last best thing that came out of metal was Dethklok.

Someone needs to step the fark up and break the monotony. Its nothing but reruns.... no... literally, has anyone listened to AC/DC 2 aka Airbourne?

I'll tell what has changed about metal and America in general:

It is full of fat guys with beards.   Every band is fat.  Every band has beards.

Rock / metal fans would much rather argue about music than actually buy it.

The sooner artists catch onto this concept, the better.

Few years ago I seen Skidrow live without Bach, I wasn't really paying attention and didn't even know who the band was. Then I started laughing when "I remember you" came on, I was thinking "jeez what a shiatty ass cover band".
The Bartender looks at me "Dude, that's Skidrow...."

I don't care how much of an Asshole Axl Rose or Bach are, Sebastian did say it best "Rachel Bolan doesn't like me - but I would work with him any time, because the result of that dynamic is really good music. Nothing good comes easy. When I read interviews with my old band and they say, 'We get along great with our new singer - we have barbecues and drink tequila together,' You know what? I don't give a fark about barbecues. You don't hear Mick Jagger saying he loves working with Keith Richards and that they have barbecues together. You hear Mick saying that he hates working with Richards. I don't think you have to be best friends with everybody to work with them."

Call me crazy but Sebastian does have a point. Imagine the Dynamics of Axel and guns n roses again? Then again its never going to happen shamefully. Hell Slash won't even work with Sebastian because he's a friend of Axel for fark sake.

Call it rock 'n roll or metal, early Skidrow was good stuff except for that farking pop song "I remember you" they can shove that one up their ass.

Assuming none of the principals die, I bet there will be a GnR reunion within the next decade that includes at least Axl, Slash, and Duff.  Adler would probably be out and Izzy might show up at a few shows, but wouldn't commit to a tour.

I don't think the tour would actually last the entire tour before it fell apart, but I thought the same thing about VH and DLR.

That's a funny read.

Tool gets it. They make their money on live performance, merchandise, and side projects. Those old rockers don't buy albums anymore (of which I am very much one), only dumb rednecks and even dumber rap fans buy albums, Sebastian. The business model changed...you need to change with it.

Wow. Just wow. Where do I even begin with that one? Angra (mainly 'Temple Of Shadows'), Devin Townsend (as the guy above me mentioned with that pic), Origin, Scelarata, Chthonic, Moonsorrow, Equilibrium, Triptykon, Disperse, Sithu Aye, Cynic, Dream Theater, so on, so forth.

Good goddamn, Airbourne?! Derivative as hell, but from what I can tell, I'm guessing that's their point. Might as well recommend to you then:

Even more like ACDC than Airbourne, and maybe even more than the last few ACDC albums.

Welcome to being every other musician on the face of this planet, Sebastian.  All exposure and no results.

I follow him on facebook because he's highly entertaining. I do plan to buy the cd eventually. The first video was good and has Duff McKagan on bass.

Slave to the Grind is damn near perfect. The production is amazing. You can cleanly hear every instrument and the vocals are untouchable. I don't think you can classify it as hair metal because musically it's closer to Pantera, whom they toured with.

I think he's off base with the Jagger / Richards comparison. The Stones haven't really put out anything good since 1981, and even then, it was a drop off in quality from the four killer albums they had from 68-72, during which time they were both too farked up to dislike one another. In fact, at the time, they were probably drawn together by their murder loss of Brian Jones.

My point is, I think the nature of the relationship is irrelevant, bar honesty. If someone comes up with something in the studio that sucks, someone else needs to say it. I think that's why successful artists put out crap so often. Nobody tells them, or they don't listen, when their music is trite nonsense. Of course, said honesty is usually why these folks end up hating each other.

Buckethead has it figured out as well.

He sells limited editions signed/hand drawing cds for $35 and they all sell out. That is $10,500

He has released 49 pikes (30 minute albums) in the last 16 months or so.

So $35 x 300 x 49 = $514,500.

that doesn't even include the CDs he sells for $25. I imagine that is a few grand more.

A label wouldn't know what to do with him.

i RARELY buy actual cds anymore. up until about 4 years ago i had 1500+, now i have, i don't know, 25? 30? at least 8 of which are cds of friends/acquantances bands...2 on which i'm the drummer.

rhapsody...my wife, my daughter, and i use this for $15 + tax a month, it has darn near everything, usually gets new releases on the actual release date, and it works on our phones and our sansas

I was never a big Skid Row fan, but Sebastian Bach does have an incredible voice.  That being said, I've always thought that he thinks that one day Snake and Rachel will crawl back and beg him to come back--and he'd say no because fark you, that's why.
