Actually, that looks like it went better for him than I thought.

Oh look. More libtards wanting to regulate a game that grown men play. Why don't you wrap yourselves in bubble wrap (instead of forcing it on others) until you can't breathe.

I think the Mad Men tweet was pretty classy. The others...not so much.

Wouldn't that then make Goodell the libtard? This effort was lacking, sir.

Why don't they have a civilized bloodsport?

Go, NFC North Club #3! Beat NFC North Club #4! Quickly, because there are 15 other games that have to use AT&T Stadium Of North Texas today. NFC East Club #1 is getting antsy. At least I think that's NFC East Club #1. Ever since home teams were all mandated to wear white and grey and away teams mandated to wear black and grey, it's gotten a bit confusing.

What bubble-wrapped football might look like.

// I'd watch the HELL out of an NFL with these rules

I'd have asked Goodell how dare he take the LA Rams from Donald Sterling just because he used the word Redskins PRIVATELY. This is the AMERICAN Football League, we have freedom here. This isn't the freaking Russian Obama Football League (ROFL) where you can just take franchises from the hard working owners and give it to the lazy players. Like this Clowny guy who's about to be drafted (what's his name again? Oh yea, Manziel.)

Most football players - millions of them - are minors.

Not the ones Goodell has any authority over.

My question would address how the NFL has tax-exempt status.

You realize the NFL is the most anti-capitalist of all the sports? Tight controls on who gets a team, helping shiatty teams out with better draft picks, and...horror of horrors!...a salary cap?

You should probably pick a more capitalist sport...like soccer, the ultimate meritocracy (except for the bastard known as MLS)...

Did uninformed idiots act like uninformed idiots while protected by the anonymity of the Internet? Did a bunch of guys with minimum wage jobs lecture the commissioner of a multibillion dollar international business on how to do his job? Yeah, then it went like I expected.

Honestly don't see the benefit of doing these AMAs. The same purpose could be accomplished with fan meetings in cities where real fans could ask real questions instead of Joe Internet asking stupid shiat like "WHY U RUIN FUTBAL?!"

Earguy: My question would address how the NFL has tax-exempt status.

Not a tax lawyer... but isn't the actual NFL just like a trust to enforce rules for the teams?  Its the teams that make the money for themselves.  How much money does the actual NFL make, not counting what the teams themselves make (which are not tax exempt).

When you hear that "the NFL" brings in $X billion dollars... barely any of that is going into the NFL's actual bank account.  Its just a sum of what all the teams made.

that's all about right, but still how is the profit maximizing management company for a collection of for-profit teams tax-exempt?  not saying they it would really help the national debt, but more of the principle of the thing.  the nfl is all about profit, even if they plan to pass that profit on to the individual clubs.

But they all follow the NFL's lead.

The NFL is the pinnacle.  Every college, university, high school, middle school, junior high school and even elementary schools that run football programs look to the NFL to see how it's done at the top.  They set the tone and the example for everything, and they are responsible for what they project.

Gregg Easterbrook writes about this a lot, I would suggest reading his material.  It's very compelling.

Nowhere near as good as James Neal's.
