I made the mistake of asking dad why we didn't have our very own geek in the chicken coop.  He made it happen.

Nice backyard. Must be good to be able to devote 300+ hours to your kids before they are 17.

In other news, most spoiled child EVER immediately gets bored of said rollercoaster and starts thinking up what the next instant gratification he can use to have his rich daddy prove he loves him get all his friends to think he's cool and not a spoiled brat.

Is this the same best coaster dad EVER from last year?

I'm pretty sure my condo HOA would frown on that.

...With the absolute WORST accompanying video.

Earth to Dad, finish the roller coaster, don't tell us you're not going to use the "back half".  And start the video by showing it actually in motion.  The whole thing!  The vid is 90% talking, and 10% some-of-the-track roller coasting.  :/

/End rant.

He's not rich because he spent $3500 -- he's rich because he can afford the homeowner's insurance for this shiat.

I couldn't think of a single good reason to say no so Lyle and I headed off to the lumber yard for a few supplies.

I'll bet mom could think of several good reasons.  Why isn't she mentioned?

Because she lives in Ohio

Different. Actually there were quite a few hits for "Backyard rollercoaster" on youtube but I think this is the one you're talking about:

This. How much do you want to bet that guy's closet has an evil clown outfit in it? Kinda hidden in the back, in a black trash bag. Along with a lot of hentai.

You know who else had a rollercoaster in their backyard?

Michael Jackson, and I bet he loves your kid more as well.

Hey Dad, why can't there be four hookers in my bed when I go to sleep at night?

Old and busted roller coaster doesn't even look amusing. A Homemade backyard Salt-N-Pepper Shaker ride would be fantastic though.

If he could get HO insurance at all. Policies ive seen wont write for things like diving boards and trampolines much less a roller coaster.

Best dad ever buys everyone a season pass to a real theme park and takes you there until you beg for mercy.

Actually, I think it's pretty cool even if he does have to push the cart up a hill with a stick to get it started.  It seems like a helluva a lot of work for what he actually got, but

OTOH, he could probably have just taken his kids to an amusement park a few dozen times for the cost and effort of building it.

...and then the town council promptly ordered him to tear it down

CODE VIOLATION.

Seriously though, looking at all these on youtube makes me want to Build one now that I have the property to do so. It wouldn't be some 15 second ride either. What did he use? PVC pipe?

I never played Roller Coaster Tycoon, but I heard that the real winning move was to have your coaster launch it's cars into the neighboring park, killing the riders in their park, causing their approval rating to dive and yours to skyrocket...

Can anyone confirm this?
