Noticed a few weeks ago that the DVD sleeves changed.

But who gives a fark? It's a logo. If a company wants to change their logo, what difference does it make?

I don't see what the big deal is either.

If they don't crank up their movie portfolio, the logo is going to be the last thing I care about with them.

This. I'm about to drop them entirely. The only reason I'd hung onto them so long was for the Arrested Development episodes. But that's long gone.

Let me guess? Not enough Michael Bay blockbuster hits, and Madea movies for you?

If you want to see the new logo, you better hurry. Things tend to disappear off of Netflix pretty damn quick.

/I just want to know when craft brew bottle labels decided to give American produce labels a run for their gaudy, over-saturated imagery
/that's gaudy not gaudi

They probably dropped the "iconic" red background because red channels compress for shiat under jpeg compression.  The new version looks fine.

In all seriousness, give the "reccommended for you" section a shot. I've found quite a few good movies and shows from that. Worst case, it is a waste of 20 minutes. Best case, another reason to have the subscription.

Eh, no reason to be a dick about it, their streaming selection does sort of blow. Worth the $10 or whatever it is though. And the snail mail thing is a pain in the ass.

Now that they pay for bandwidth, they need a simpler logo.

their choice of headline text is also pretty bad on a computer screen

The color cartridge on their printers should last much longer now. Imagine the reduction in printing costs!

jayhawk88: Design people are the worst. There, I said it.

I disagree. I have 15 years experience working with designers and graphic artists as an ad agency print manager and traffic manger, hiring them from the client side, and co-working with them as an ad sales rep for publishers.

The dozens of design fold I've worked with were conscientious, sometimes amazing artists, and in my experience, never once been the ones who decide to change a logo in the first place, or chose the final design option.

It was usually someone on the client side, a marketing person or a micromanaging twit of an owner of a company, that decided to make a change in the first place, and then approved the change from designs put forth based on their initial input.

Since I started working with designers/artists 1986, I've never seen a designer/artist have decision making on a change, probably for the sole reason that I've never worked with one who was also paying the bills. They have opinions and collect paychecks. I have yet to come across one who is the owner and paying the bill..

It looks like they are taking another run at seperating DVD rental from streaming.

What a pain in the ass.
