Loadmaster: Forget her smarts, her beauty, her drive to get the story without regard to personal risk. She leans conservative, which is the only thing that matters, so naturally she must never again be allowed to work for a mainstream media outlet.

WHY IS THE LEFT SO AFRAID OF AN INTELLIGENT, CONSERVATIVE FEMALE JOURNALIST who makes up stories whole clothe?

James!: Pretty interesting as a behind the scenes article about 60 minutes.

Yup, although the song's a familiar one; people too busy politicking and backstabbing to do their damn job.

She reminds me a lot of some managers I've worked with; smart, extroverted people with a strong work ethic and buckets of ambition... but who use it to climb the ranks as fast as they can, rather than develop the experience necessary to actually do their job well.

That particular combination of ambition and ability has probably caused as many disasters throughout history as rank stupidity.

It's sad to see how far off the rails 60 Minutes has gone. Seems like every other segment is a CEO handjob and/or company puff piece.

60 Minutes pulling up to your office used to mean "Oh fark, we're about to get roasted." Now it means "Oh good, we're about to get our ass kissed."

Throughout the history of journalism what she did would end a person's career. But in the world we live in now it is the beginning to a Right Wing media career.

it isn't her political leanings themselves that people have a problem with, it's the fact that someone has to take the fall for the complete lack of actual journalism that took place in her Benghazi report.  Face it, if she was actually interested in discrediting him, it would have taken her about 45 minutes of actual work to get a solid grasp on the fact that his story was a work of right-wing erotic fan fiction.  So the reason wasn't her political leanings, but that her political leanings blinded her to the obviously problems with the guy's story and distracted her from doing her actual job.  You know, journalism.

Does one non ignorant liberals erals realize it took 3 years to uncover Watergate? Yet benghazi is already old news.

If by 3 years, you mean 7 months from arrest on the night of the break-in to prosecution, okay?

1972 June 17 - Five men, one of whom says he used to work for the CIA, are arrested at 2:30 a.m. trying to bug the offices of the Democratic National Committee at the Watergate hotel and office complex.

1973 January 30 - Former Nixon aides G. Gordon Liddy and James W. McCord Jr. are convicted of conspiracy, burglary and wiretapping in the Watergate incident. Five other men plead guilty, but mysteries remain.

There's no point in trying to enlighten or educate a dedicated Fox Follower.

Gee, posting images instead of carefully developing a cogent rationale for your opinions IS fun!

/Still waiting for some right winger to illustrate the so-called Benghazi lie, whatever the hell that's supposed to be.

I suppose pushing a lie to sell books is a type of dissent, not one many people find worthy of respect though.

Seriously, all the stress and problems she's having could be solved by forgetting about CBS, 60 minutes, and journalistic ethics, and just working for Fox News. Hell, she wouldn't even have been asked to apologize, and could still be reporting that guy's account as fact to this day.

TheGreatGazoo: It doesn't help that a White House deputy national security adviser and the president of CBS news are brothers.

Nor does it help that almost every major GOP Presidential candidate in 2012 literally worked for Fox News. Whats your point?

Larry Mahnken: Yes, let's all sexually objectify a woman who was sexually assaulted while doing her job.

And if you read the article, she allowed herself to be sexually objectified in order to build up her career and her CV before going to CBS.

That's not condoning her being sexually assaulted, of course. I'm just saying that you should recognize the whole story before nitpicking one thing that has little to no relation to the other.

True.  Porn is a more respectable position than being a host on Fox.
