That was really cool.  I thought I had at least a healthy understanding of history but I seriously lack architecture history knowledge.   Only 2-3 places were recognizable.

In all fairness, for most of human history, cities were mortality sinks.

So more people died than were born and only peasants from the farms kept them in positive population.

The new SimCity is fun, if you also find aquariums fun.  It's built around the idea that people like to watch the little people in their city move around.  But there's no challenge, your city can't fail, it's just about how long it takes you to get skyscrapers.
