Not really obscure.  Subby is referring to a hit movie in the early 80's about this teenage programmer who breaks into a computer system, which is called WOPR, which stands for War Operational Plan Response, that runs the US missile defenses.  And in breaking into the system, he almost causes WWIII.  It stared Matthew Broderick, Ally Sheedy and Dabney Coleman.

If I recall correctly, I believe the movie's name is Tootsie.

But on the plus side, she'll win the Kentucky Derby and star in a show about how to be a whore.

Enemabag Jones: MathProf
aagrajag: Without reading the article, I'm going to guess that the "hacking" consisted of typing in a password that was written on a post-it note pasted to the terminal.
You were close, but you wouldn't know it from the linked article. He physically broke into the principal's office and used the principal's computer to change grades. No indication of how he got the password, or if there even was one.

Beware of autoplay.

[Per the article]
Bautista has been charged with four counts of intellectual property crimes for modifying a program and four counts of modifying computer user data. All eight crimes are felonies.

If he was really breaking into an office then where is the breaking and entering charges. It sounds like at least half are of those bullshiat charges. I am wondering if the principle left his office and computer unlocked?

Not that that excuses what the kid did, but quite often charges are piled on when the person in charge just plain f**ked up and lost face.

You're thinking of The Silence of the Lambs.

I can't believe how ignorant you people are, randomly naming off movies without a clue as to what you're talking about.

The movie was called GhostBusters. It's right there in the title - He Busts into the mainframe without anyone realizing he's there, like a Ghost.

Dabney Coleman, of course, played the role of the computer.

No, no, Tootsie was the one about the kid who went back to 1955 and had to make sure his mom and dad farked before he could come back to the future.

The movie you're thinking of was Smoky and the Bandit 3.
