They still allow Hulsey to call himself a Democrat?  I thought after his antics in 2011-12 he was persona non grata with them.

Any convention where you don't bring home free stuff for the family can't really be considered a convention at all.

I'm definitely not fond of the elected leadership in this state, but there's still time to reverse course before the entire state is sold off. Somehow, Tammy Baldwin is an elected official through all this derp so there's hope resting in the voters. A small amount of hope, admittedly, but hope nonetheless.

Wisconsin has the highest percentage of incarcerated black men in the country. The city of Racine Wisconsin where I live has been closing minority owned bars and restaurants by denying them liquor licenses.

I'd say Wisconsin has an above average issue with racism.

No, it's really kind of a dumb stunt.  Even if it is accurate he probably just torpedoed any chance he had.  The Reps make up enough stuff on their own.  They don't need to be given real ammunition to fight with.

Milwaukee and Madison (not counting downtown) are pretty racially segregated, too.

Inb4 the "but, but Lincoln was Republican and the Klan used to be Democrats" argument that ignores how the Southern Strategy ended up causing both parties to basically flip sides on about everything.

The South is mentally/culturally basically the same now as ever.  They used to call themselves Democrats and now they call themselves Republicans, but the people themselves are pretty well the same even if slightly moderated.

State Rep. Brett Hulsey said he hand-made the hoods with his daughter's sewing machine.

Based on the photo, I'd say this guy clearly doesn't know the difference between "sewing machine" and "scissors".

By the way, remember when Republican college kids held Affirmative Action Bake Sales where they charged women, gays, and minorities less than White males, and the lefties went into vapor lock over this insulting "stunt"? Hope they held some of that outrage in reserve for this guy.

I actually seem to remember most lefties rubbing their hands together and plotting to bring a Gay Female Jewish Native American to get free baked goods and then sell them to teach the college republicans how much of a biatch the free market can be.

Well that and linking of youtube videos of College Republicans ducking the question about enlistment during Iraq.

Someone who carries on such childish, dramatic stunts, is either a person too immature to be suited for a gubernatorial position, or has his finger on the pulse of the American people in his state.

I'm not sure which.

False equivalency is false.

1. Number of the goofballs.
2. Acceptance by the rest of party of such antics.
3. How close they come to winning primaries and general elections.

Yeah, they did a report on racial disparity in Dane County a couple years ago and Madison targets blacks for arrest much more than the rest of Wisconsin or the rest of the nation. Dane County also has much higher unemployment for blacks as compared to the rest of Wisconsin and the U.S. as well.

http://racetoequity.net/dev/wp-content/uploads/WCCF-R2E-Report.pdf

Not surprising to me. I always found Madison to pay good lip service to racial issues while maintaining strict institutional racism in actuality.

Mississippi of the north is right, with Madison as the capital.

Also doesn't Wisconsin have like the largest population of KKK members in an area, or had the largest KKK rallys? My friend's family use to have this cabin down in Southern Wisconsin that was by a small town where everyone was a KKK member, and it was also next to a nudist colony or nudist beach. He said that area was pretty farked up.

Fact is, the Klan is a Democrat started and instituted group.

And, the last active Klan member in Congress....Sen Robert Byrd, the Grand Kleagle of the KKK, was a Democrat....he did call some white folks "white ni---as" not too long ago

As much as DoucheCrats want to claim racism is only GOP....the Democrats are the party of Slavery, Segregation, Jim Crow, Anti-Miscengation laws, Lynching, and the KKK...and that are the facts

...this type of behavior has no place in the public dialogue," said Democratic Party Chairman Mike Tate

Did you ever notice how people like this get mocked and/or shunned by the left while the same type of GOPers are defended and white-knighted by the right?

Meh. Political parties don't really "stand for" anything, anyway.
I surely don't give a shiat what they "stood for" 150 years ago.

....to which the only reply that is required is already typed out.  YOU quoted it.  Although I'll go a little further.

The Republican party used to be the so called "big government" Liberal party, and the Democratic party used to be the "small government" Conservative party.  Hell they where once called the anti-Federalists).  They both flipped.... and those are the facts (facts that you are not willing to confront).  Just look at what different areas of the country used to vote.  Look at what they vote now.  Everyone traded labels, but the people are still the same.

Abraham Lincoln would NEVER be welcome in today's GOP.  You have Conservatives regularity denounce most everything he did (OK I am not a fan of him suspending Habeus Corpus either).  The South was Conservative in George Washington's day and they are Conservative now.  They where racist in his day, and they are racist now.  The North(especially the Northeast) was Liberal then and is Liberal now.  Granted at a time most everyone was racist to a (less than equal) degree, but Liberals have ALWAYS lead the way on equality - doesn't matter the group in question.

Yes Abraham Lincoln was a Liberal.  Deal with it.

That's an unfair comparison to Mississippi.

Mississippi is way more equitable than Wisconsin.
