Lord, where to even start with this demented biatch...

Ex- (or not) gay former drag queen, banned from the pageant circuit (and for the record, you can do some seriously farked up things without getting kicked out of that crowd), supports the constitutional amendment against gay marriage but in the same breath says "I think that everyone has their own choices to make and I'm fine with everyone making their own."

And of course, "I don't really understand how you can separate the fact that marriage is a religious institution."

Shoulda just stuck to my never-fail rule of thumb and stopped reading at "my friends in the Democrat party"

Why would he need to be gay to be a drag queen, maybe he just likes dressing up.

Not as many as you'd think, considering the number of self-hating gays in the GOP who do everything in their power to hide their gayness from their families (especially their wives), friends, coworkers and the people who sit in the same section as them at their local megachurch.

/and the adjacent section, if they sit close to the stairs

Dude's picked a tough row to hoe -- embracing the derp vs. being true to oneself. If he wasn't already insane and unhappy when he chose that route, it's gotta make him crazy and miserable. What's making him tick -- ambition? Redeeming himself in the eyes of disapproving family?

I think I get it now.  Closeted gay-Republicans are just jelly of the people who can come out in the mainstream and get married.

And in breaking news, politicians lie, and some republicans like to suck cocks. They should have a disclaimer under any public statement they give.

(any quote from me will be in support of party dogma, and any relation to my personal views or practices may or may not represent what i actually believe, or do in my private life. Hey, a man's gotta get paid, what do you want? My actual opinion?)

"I don't really understand how you can separate the fact that marriage is a religious institution," Wiles said.

To a Protestant, i.e. since Luther, marriage has not been a Sacrament. The only two sacraments are Baptism and Communion (or the Eucharist or the Lord's Supper or whatever your denomination calls the Bread+Wine). Marriage is done in church for the same reason funerals are: it's an old custom but without Scriptural basis.

And legally, in the USA, marriage is a CIVIL matter, not a religious one. To be legally married you get your license from the courthouse, not the cathedral; when the clergyman pronounces you married the complered form is mailed back to the courthouse. Your clergyperson is legally empowered to do so by the State as its Agent, not by any Supreme Being.

For example in Baltimore City, MD you get your marriage license from the Marriage License Department of the City of Baltimore Circuit Court Clerk's Office in Room 628 of the Clarence M. Mitchell, Jr. Courthouse at 100 N. Calvert Street, Baltimore, MD 21202.

Hint: in the USA you get divorced in your local courthouse, so that should show you whose law applies.

If Southern Baptists don't want to perform gay weddings in their churches they should be allowed not to, just like they should be free to not accept communist atheists as church members.

But they are legally required to recognize that any legally married couple are in fact legally married, whether the like it or not, like the KKK must admit that under the current law American citizens of predominantly African descent are counted as voters and human beings with civil and human rights.

The Constitution of the United State of America is NOT a religious document, not does it concern God's law: in the USA the only applicable law is the secular kind, the law of Man. And according to those laws of Man established by the US Constitution marriage is a secular matter. And anybody exercising the vote, let alone running for Governor, should be required to know that.

If you don't like it that law then try to change it; it's not enough to just jam your fingers in your ears and go "La la la, God created Adam and Eve, la la la!" But you must first admit that for the time being the law of the land IS the law.

So no, in the USA -- including the State of North Carolina -- marriage is not a religious institution. If you want to live someplace where it is you might try Iran, Israel or Saudi Arabia.

How many farking times will we have to explain this?

2 pair of tan patty hose will fix that problem. The gay man I stayed for awhile did that when he performed and didn't shave his legs.
