Fortunately, four feet is the scientifically perfect distance for KHITBASH.

2014-05-03 04:13:26 PM
I wouldn't even pay $400 to bang her ...

2014-05-03 04:16:56 PM
I don't know whom to hate more -- her, or the douchelickers who paid $400 to have their picture taken with a screeching, talentless c*nt.

2014-05-03 04:25:27 PM
Why's she gotta make this so complicated?

Wait, seriously?

Livejournal is still a thing?

Probably so no one gets close enough to steal that humongous rock Chad Kroeger put on her finger.

That's a bargain. Britney Spears was charging $2,500 iirc.

Yes, but the four foot rule was only suggested if you didn't want to catch any STDs.

I would also make the fans wear surgical masks and gloves just to be sure they don't catch anything.

She doesn't seem to be aging all that well, and she doesn't have Fiona Apple's excuse of being bugfark crazy.

I hung out with an actress who does a lot of stuff like this at conventions. She says her shoulder always ends up smelling like BO from nerd armpits. Ha ha ha.

I really don't have a problem with people paying for meet and greets or with the artists.

I do think, however, that if fans are paying, then they should get value for their money.

This is bullshiat.

Well it wouldn't be without precedent.  The Canadian government has apologized for Bryan Adams on several occasions.

I did a meet and greet with Dream Theater. The only rule I remember was to not shake their hands too hard since they're like critical to their job or something.

Anyway. It was a couple hundred bucks and the guys were very engaging and cool. My picture was of me giving Mike Portnoy an "uppercut".

Why Hello my American friend, Prime Minister Stephen (Sweatervest) Harper here.  I know you think we are screwing you guys by sending Bieber, Celine Dion and this young lady to torment your country.

Really we don't want to do this.  As a matter of fact they are meant to be labourers on the Keystone XL pipeline.  Alas, they continued dawdling by your government, specifically your president, has kept that project in lingo.  So until that project is completed expect more of this celebrity export to continue.

WE. HAVE. MORE. do not tempt us...

Funny - I just did that a couple weeks ago (I won the opportunity). One time around for a pic with the band, one time around to get (up to two) things signed. The only thing I noticed was that their handler wouldn't let me hold my cannily procured beer in the pic. Rock and roll. And they all looked decidedly unglamorous in person.

/seemed nice enough, though
//haven't figured out how to view my pic online yet...

Sounds like your typical "meet and greet" type scenario where you spend a lot of money to essentially say hello, get a picture, and then get shuffled on. The "no touching" thing is a little strange, but still not really all that abnormal when you get down to it.

Meet and Greet is pretty much the biggest scam out there and it's amazing how many people still tend to go to some of these and get surprised at how little interaction they actually have. There are some amazing M&G out there with stars who really go above and beyond, but most of them tend to end up like this.

I've got a friend who does stuff like this.  Like, he's a good guy, normal enough, he's actually really driven and has a successful career.  But he wants you to think he's 10x as successful as he is.  He's always kind of vague about certain things to give the impression that he's *probably* a big deal, but without actually lying.

One of the many things he does is employ 'Awesome by association'.  He name drops like there is no tomorrow.  It doesn't matter what it is, or if he likes it or not, if it's a FAMOUS something, and he has a chance to interact with it, he does.  Then he tells everyone about it, but in a casual way.  He'll pay $400 to meet Avril Lavigne even though he doesn't like her music or care about going to her concert.  He'd just want the picture.  Then he'd go around making sure he could casually bring up that he 'hangs out with' Avril sometimes.  You can tell, he DESPERATELY wants someone to call him out on it, 'No really, I met her a while back and she's really cool.  She was in town a couple weeks ago for a concert and I stopped by to say Hey'.

For $100 I attended a CD release party with Emilie Autumn. It was her first album in half a decade. The release party was limited to 100 people. Well, there was 4-5 different locations. This was the one near me. The party was held at the Drake hotel in Chicago and included 3 hours of tea service. I got a signed CD of the new album and a one off tea towel just for the event.

It started with everyone meeting her one by one chatting for a minute and then taking an individual picture with her. After that we began tea service while we waiting for everyone else to meet her one on one. After that she spent the next couple of hours walking around the room talking to people. No distance barriers, no limitations imposed, etc. About an hour into the walk around they played the new album over the speakers. At the end of the night there was a raffle based on your ticket number for stuff from her tours, hard to get swag, etc.

She was a sweetheart and very warm. Act or not, it was a fun evening. And the tea service was delicious. After tea service per person, a CD, and a tea towel, she didn't make much off of the $100 per person. Maybe $15-20. This was about celebrating the new album and meeting the fans.

It was fun. I'd do it again.
