I dig it.

I also feel like I should be walking down a street with a trenchcoat and a bad ass fro.

I like the track, but not sure how I would dance to it.

Is it because I'm white?

It sounds like what funk would sound like if white people made it.

Like an imitation of the technique but not actually understanding the soul, the essence, of what funk is. There's no relationship between the rhythm and the bass, it's just boring, disparate quantization (and that percussion is horribly thin, flat, boring and repetitive). You don't just play a bunch of notes, man, you got to FEEL IT. Jam it on the one for crying out loud. For an example, watch this short tutorial by Bootsy. You see what he's doing that you're not?

sounds like it was composed by one guy with a computerized setup.  You need a band to jam with to get the interplay between people.  More than one band member is essential for a good funk.

The score sounds like a good place to start from, if you can find like players for it.

I enjoyed it. I wonder how it would sound with one of those cheesy disco string sections...

Seems kinda separated, I really wanted interplay between the guitar and bass parts. I think it is a good groove that needs some more sweat poured into it.

Love it! But I'm a 70s chick; almost 48. Good stuff, subby, well done, and thank you.
