I think he's actually trying to get it back from a motorcycle wreck or two.

Despite being a massive Deadhead, was never a big AB fan, but now that I'm finishing Galadrielle Allman's "Please Be With Me Biography", I'm poking around and finding a lot of really cool shiat.  I respected Duane's playing and knew a few "big hits" beforehand, but the book is opening my eyes to a cool part of music I knew of but didn't really know per se. the book is not just a straight "and then my dad did this, adn then he did that, and then he did this", it chronicles her own search for "him", as he checked out when she was I think 3 years old and her mother was estranged from Duane.  Pretty cool book.

a criticism is while her writing is pretty detailed, she'll write something like, "and on that hot day in 1961, Gregg and Duane stood on the beach.  A crab scurried by. As waves rolled in, a girl in a red polka dot dress smiled at Duane.  She had a white dog with a blue collar. He barked twice at Gregg.  Gregg took a drag on a cigarette, passed a cold can of beer to Duane.  Duane smiled at the girl adn said, 'Baybro, we gotta form us a band.""  like, there's a ton of detail relating to events she never could know.

Just say, "they talekd about forming a band while on the beach."

Best concert that I ever saw was the Allman Brothers in the 70's. 3 1/2 hour jam
