What does that even mean?

Look here simpleton, the tides come in, the tides go out, life comes in, life goes out, you can't explain that. That's what it means.

It means God couldn't have created us since He isn't technically life.

She had an amazing bod but she really wasn't pretty in the traditional sense.

it's the big hair.. it's confusing you. but you must remember, it was the 80's and everyone went around like that. it was the hieght of fashion. so much aqua net was spilt in that decade we put a hole in the ozone layer.

It means that they don't know the difference between abiogenesis and spontaneous generation. Or, rather, they do, they just try to conflate them. Which is funny because they believe we're made from dust. It's like they don't have clue 1 about what they beleive.

Oh those fundies.  I wish I could live in such a simple, well-defined, and just reality as they do.  Unfortunately, I have yet to find the brain surgeon that will safely remove the 75% of my cerebrum necessary for me to join that community.

I'd heard that Harry Anderson had fallen on hard times, but I hadn't imagined it was this dire. Damn.

I'd watch a pro-creationism film if the opening credits were set to the Night Court theme.

(Well, I'd watch the opening credits at least)

Ed Grubermann: Ecobuckeye: Harry's a gambler and a trickster. He knows full well the implications of Pascal's Wager, and he's close enough to the end of the line that he may as well hedge his bets.

Pascal's Wager is a coward's bet and an insult to the God it attempts to convince you to worship. It's used by people who think God is so stupid that He can't see into your mind and no that you don't have faith, you are just scared of Hell. And that's not even accounting for the fact that you could be following the wrong god or the right god in the wrong way.

Pascal may have been a brilliant mathematician, but he was a shiatty theologian.

I find the blind arrogant assumption of there only being two possible states (one, no God, and two, the shallow needy stupid being you describe) to be far worse.  It's not a two horse race.  Why isn't Odin, who says you have to die in battle with a sword in your hand to get to the "good" heaven, in the running?  Where are the evil gnostic demiurges and dread cthonic elder beings who swallow your soul if you get tricked into worshipping them?  What about Sam, my neighbor's dog, who keeps telling me to kill people?  Should I follow him?  He sounds legit.  After all, he's a dog and he can talk, that's pretty amazing you must admit.

False logic. It doesn't mean anything, it's a filter. If a rube buys that premise, he/she will buy the rest. It saves the con man valuable time.

omeganuepsilon: Shadowtag: robohobo: I don't give two shiats about his beliefs or what he's willing to do for money. Night Court is awesome, and he was great on Cheers.

He was even good on Dave's World and that read like someone sanitized Dave Barry's actual column.

All this, and he's on the old end of the scale now.  I grant a special exception to older people.  You can be a racist homophobe creationist and I'll cease to give a fark if you're 80 years old.(he's more like 72 or so, but close enough).

The ratio of pants shiattingly crazy in old people is sad, but it's a fact of life.  Sure, I may wish the really vile ones, (and some can be very very bad) would go ahead and die already, but they don't make me as annoyed as younger people that have no excuse.

Really, crazy happens in young people too, but they gain credit with their youth because they look normal.  Society gives them a break by default.  That's what's most annoying.

He's 61
