Might still be easier to do than a space walk and a hell of a lot cheaper and safer.Or they could add these to the ends of the new space suits for fine manipulation needs.So you have some form of physical pre-programming where you perform the actions virtually and get feedback based on what the probe thinks is there and it has semi smart execution software that executes what you meant to do using some form of local feedback.This may be the first step toward an idea I had the other day where you get people like mechanics. plumbers etc and you fit them with gloves like the feedback glove for this hand. The hand does the actual job and the AI neural network learns what it feels like to do stuff properly from the human neural network...Then we just need to program a generic learning system and let it learn mechanics, plumbing and all the other `human` jobs where tactile feedback and experience is core to the job.
