No. It was the 90s that things started to get somewhat bland.

Grace Jones and Annabella Lwin were certainly groovier than I'll ever be.

Yeah... She's not a fox. She's a lioness. Dolph Lundgren was her bodyguard at one point and she got him started in acting.

Neon, big hair and shoulder pads.  And gigantic pubic muffs.

What do you mean, subby? All the running shoes they sell right now are in that 80s hyperneon.

All that gallery shows me is how much more natural and better looking starlets were back then than the factory-made pod girls creeping up the screens and the airwaves these days.

I agree. Women were most attractive from the late 1960's to the middle 1980's. It was that sweet spot after the sexual revolution and before plastic surgery became common. If I had to big a single point, I'd say 1974.

So, a 50 page slideshow of 80's celebrity headshots. No thanks.

Of course you think they look more natural/better back then; they did. You had to have a fair amount of natural beauty because it was a lot harder to shoop the pixels. Today, photoshop can make a coked out whore like Courtney Love attractive enough for the average Farker to rub one out.

You're being a little rough on coked up whores. If you've never spent a night with one, you are missing out!

Yep, a pretty girl is pretty no matter what's in style.  1980s fashion still sucked, though.

I think a lot of those pictures could fit in with present day, but others... shudder. We don't need to see ALL your hair at once. IMHO.

There was a ton of style in the 80s.  It's just that it was in Manhattan and on Sunset Boulevard and normal people were terrified to go to those places in the 80s.

No, that would be the 70s, specifically the late 70s.

I don't fault women for having work done if that's what makes them comfortable in themselves. But I'm so tired of Bibendum boobs and Skeletor faces. If I want to objectify women, please give me what I need to get that job done. Variety. As nature meant it to be.

This. It wasn't until the 80s ended that style disappeared.  Specifically, it wasn't that it disappeared, it was just that grunge-style took over in 1991 (with the introduction of Nevermind) and wiped everything else out for half a decade.

The 80s had style:

The 80s had excellent fashions...and some horrific ones. Still, much better off fashion-wise than the 70s.

And the decade we're in now. This decade makes the 70s look reserved.

DESLIDIFIED

The problem with fashion in the '80s wasn't the clothes or the hair. It was the makeup. There are few in that slideshow that don't look like they just had a run-in with Homer Simpson's makeup shotgun, but only a few.

Also, who the hell are some of those people? I was in high school in the '80s, so I was pretty well versed on pop culture at the time, and I don't remember Wendy James, Toyah, Cleo Rocos, or Sinitta...

FTFA: I put it to you that the 80s was the most colourful, creative time for beauty...

Oh, they must be English celebrities only.

I personally despise just about everything 80s.

Literally everything from nearly the entire decade is a paean to cocaine and excess.

Makeup caked on with a brick laying tool. shiatty synthetic everything.

No thanks.

A large reason for that is the ubiquity, and higher resolution of today's media.
