I wonder how long it will be before somebody uses this as proof that his girlfriend engineered the whole thing in order to get herself in the spotlight and line up some book/reality show deals (since she knew that her free ride was about to end). Poor guy was never a racist at all, was just manipulated by a conniving woman less than half his age who took advantage of a trusting old man, himself as naive to the harsh nature of the world as a young, lamb-like child.

Prostate cancer is a very slow progressing cancer.

My Father-In-Law had it for about 15 years before he died at the age of 90 from something completely unrelated.

When that cancer was originally diagnosed, the Doc told him that he would die of something else before the cancer did him in. Obviously, the Doc was right.

In an ironic twist, Sterling refused to pay for prostate-cancer surgery a decade ago for then-Clippers assistant coach Kim Hughes.
"I contacted the Clippers about medical coverage and they said the surgery wouldn't be covered," Hughes told The Journal Times of Racine, Wis., in 2011.

Sterling clearly doesn't pay for a publicist, because that story leaves out so many details that it's pretty close to bullshiat.  By Hughes own admission his surgery was covered, but he went to an out of network doctor and got a second opinion and opted for immediate surgery because he didn't want to miss part of the season.

You can blame his doctor, you can blame the HMO they were part of, but calling out the Clippers for providing health insurance and then not covering a procedure when you go out of network is ridiculous.  I'm glad Hughes got his surgery when he wanted it and also that the players chipped in to help cover it, but it wasn't like the front office was like "You have cancer?  fark you."

/Now I feel dirty.
//but seriously, people are swallowing some wholesale bullshiat

I expect more from you. This is just a Sterling approved PR leak to assist in his probable lawsuit. As for her, she's clearly odd, but I can't imagine this turning into anything; especially because she hides her face constantly. Granted I would hide my face as well if my plastic surgery was that botched.

Sterling hit on some extra weapons-grade racism.  I don't think anyone under the age of 70 is even capable of it.  This is a man so certain of the inferiority of other races that he thinks the equality movement is just something society invented to keep things polite.  She no doubt knew he was crazy racist, but guess what? So did everyone else.  We even had it on legal record.  She just managed to get it to TMZ.

I refuse to believe a man that has such an ingrained sense of racism hasn't made other questionable public comments that people simply dropped because he was rich.  You don't exist in a world where you think paying basketball players is a "gift" to a lesser people without being completely obtuse about your own behavior.  Sterling is so racist he doesn't even know he's racist.  He doesn't understand the concept.

Odd. A doctor friend told me once that if you are a man, and you make it to 80, you will have prostate cancer. The only variable is if it's dormant or aggressive.

This. My Grandfather was diagnosed about 20 years before he died and that was a couple years back at 96 for natural reasons unrelated to it.

Of course not. I wouldn't get caught out as easily as that. Do you think anyone would? Or are you wondering if I really think those farking lazy black sods I own on my basketball team are all thugs? Lemme tell you, since you seem to want to know: they're no better than them lying two-faced gooks. And don't even get me started on the Wops, Wogs, and Pakis....

If you're hoping for a quick resolution to the Clippers thing, better hope he doesn't die. At least not before they force him out.

If he dies and his family inherits the team, good luck forcing his widow or kids to sell their inheritance. Ripping the family's inheritance because the parent was a racist? Ouch, that puts a lot of people's ill gotten gains at risk.

Lot less impetus to take the team from them than from him, and there won't be as much support from the social media universe for that.

When you have a fark-ton of minorities who work for you that creates what is known as a hostile workplace when you use racist language

Clippers should not have to suffer this bullshiat because of one man being an asshole. Whats best for the team is for him to go.

that is a stretch , most employees of big money corporations regard their boss as aholes and had his gf not whored out his private maybe even provoked opinion none of this would have been an issue.

NAACP considered him Man of the Year twice.  should that offset the comments.

At least one of which the NAACP is rescinding. So no, that shouldn't offset anything. There are also all those housing discrimination suits he had to settle, because he would have lost his ass in court.

Yeah - when people found out he was racist they (surprise!) no longer wanted to work for him. The ENTIRE NBA was going to boycott their games.

In "hurt anger" I never say racist things. It's not "manufactured" to be outraged that a guy who owns a company in which 70% of his employees are black thinks that his employees are subhuman.

This really makes sense in the universe where we just found out he was a racist.

Of course that's not this universe, where minorities worked for him for decades while knowing he's a racist.

It seems like it took some concrete audiotape proof to give them enough ammunition to act. Not being a minority, I'm not sure, but it makes sense to me that one would wait until something like this gets out, because otherwise you'd probably just get fired.

not invalid. just a PR move on the NAACP part. If they give back all the money he has donated over the years that would make my point invalid.

Personally I think the NBA has made the right moves and I have no issue with them protecting their business.  I just feel we as a country are missing the bigger picture.   We no longer care about actions of a person but the private opinions.

Now yes I'm sure this guy deserves all of this if everything that is there about his past dealings are true.

it is scary to think what can happen to anyone these days in the social media world.  The USA is ripe again for a McCarthy style event.
