"Do you Kurt Cobain take Courtney Michelle Love to be your lawful shredded wife, even when she's a biatch with zits and siphoning all [your] money for doping and whoring. "Will you promise to fark her at least once a week, O.K."

Well this should send the nutters right into the deep end.

I said this exact thing already, and nobody wanted to believe it. It's a cute love note from a wife who loved her husband and was making fun of herself, marveling at how he loves her back. It was essentially a "for better or for worse" letter.

But hey, go ahead and keep trying to paint their relationship as something Kurt didn't want. I mean, I'm sure you're right and he only followed her around and worked his ass off to win her over because he has a thing for an evil woman who, despite already being a celebrity over a decade before she even met him, somehow needed to trick him into marrying her to sell her own band that was already wildly successful.

The ability of some of you jackals to just  know what was in Kurt's heart -- or Courtney's, for that matter -- despite not knowing either one of them or being ANY part of their lives is simply amazing.

I think she was definitely domineering and nasty, but Curt was totally into that.

And some people are only happy in dysfunctional relationships. Curt would have to abuse himself even more if she didn't help.

I actually talked with her on a couple occasions long, long ago. She didn't seem domineering and nasty to me. In fact, she was intelligent, savvy, and very charismatic. I could totally see what Kurt found attractive about her.  Granted, she wasn't stoned or drunk when we spoke (I don't think she was, anyway) but she came off to me as a wild woman with a big brain and a big heart-- The kind of woman who is in constant conflict over whether to follow her emotional pangs, or to trust her logic.

Again, this was when she was sober. I'm sure both she and Kurt were completely different when on drugs or wasted in some way.

People seem to be under the impression that Kurt couldn't possibly  have been the nasty, domineering, and abusive one in their relationship. I never met him, but he always seemed to be the kind of person who needed things to be terrible in order to fuel his artistic drive, and I could imagine he started plenty of fights just to maintain his need for a tragic self-image.

Entirely possible. Talented abusers are good at playing the victim.

But i do think it's evident the guy was a bit of a self loathing masochist long before she showed up. And i've known some who will work tirelessly to create abusive situations if there is none, and even seek out abusive partners.

Courtney Love might be very unpleasant, but Kurt Cobain wasn't some noble, pure blooded genius led astray by others. Most of the damage he inflicted, including the final damage, he did to himself.
