syzygy whizz: John Buck 41: syzygy whizz: John Buck 41: query on giving cats distemper shots (don' know nuthin' 'bout goggies) *info dump*

Oh dear...hope it didn't come across as condescending...
Just these were the difficulties I faced (especially finding someone who sold single-dose shots!) and I wanted to give you a heads-up BEFORE you ran into them.

FWIW...to everyone...my motives are ALWAYS benign.
Even if I do stick my feet (or keyboard) in my mouth on occasion I mean no harm- nor am I suggesting that someone ain't firing on all thrusters.
I tend to be detail-oriented, and it's frequently the little details* that can give you major "WTF?"

* like tigerose's reminder to purge the air from the syringe before giving the shot. I shoulda remembered that...glad SHE did!

Sounds like a Sagittarius thing to me! :D I have done that more times that I can count!

John Buck 41: lilyspad: John Buck 41: lilyspad: So, my ribs turned out awesome!!!! No fires this time! The foil held up, and did it's job. I haven't eaten yet, but just a taste to make sure. Landlord got a big plate of ribs and shrimp pasta salad.....he's happy. :D

Yum, they sound great! I have an odd sked--11a to 7p. I never eat breakfast on workdays, have a 'snack' soon after getting to work, have lunch at 3 or or 3:30, and munch the rest of the afternoon. By the time I visit the folks on the way home, get home, play with the dogs, catch up with Mrs. Bucks day and have a cold adult beverage, it's 8:30 or later. Not feeling hunger pangs at that point, but since I basically nibble off and on from 11:30 til 5 (or later) I'm eating plenty and getting all the calories I need.

But those ribs DO sound tasty. I could make an exception if you could teleport a couple to me tonite.

Wifey has tomorrow off and says she's gonna surprise me with "something you like but I have never made for you before". I have ruled out swordfish as well as shrimp scampi and have NO idea what she has planned.

Ooooh....secret menu surprise! How fun!!!

Ok, change of plans. It's STILL something she's never made for me before but now she's says she's 'pretty sure' I'll like it. She did say it's 'beef-based' (though not stroganoff) but if there's beef in it, I'm pretty sure I'll love it.

My chicken cacciatore came out well yesterday. Too labor intensive for the payoff, though. Won't be making it again soon.

Just make it the way I do; I make enough for 4 or 5 nights & freeze the rest in corning dishes. If you think it is spectacular now, try it after it has had a chance to mellow & mingle all of the flavors. Spectacular! I almost always make enough dinner for at least a couple of nights to make dinner easier & faster after work.

Gorged on a shiatload of tortilla chips and salsa. Why? Because chips and salsa! I'm going to be so bloated tomorrow.
Went to our community's first clusterfeck HOA meeting. Too many foremen, not enough crew members. Everyone talking over each other, jumping from one topic, to the next and back again only to go somewhere else.
The budget. We are okay on the budget yet we don't have anything in the budget yet we do have enough money in the budget yet the powers that be used her credit card instead of using some of the funds and she'd like to be paid back please...what...the...feck.
In other news, we have a new president, so the powers that be are now in a new entity. A befuddled, confused, baffled entity.
I might be moving in a year or two if they keep fecking up.

Well once again time got away from me, but still, yay kilocat!  I decided to take a walk down by the waterfront because the weather was just so darn nice, which ate up a couple hours more than I initially planned, then grocery shopping, then dinner, etc.   Was a lovely evening though.

I brought a whole bunch of coffee for all you party girls to take the edge off the morning that comes too early.  Hey, there's enough eggs here to make myself the world's biggest omelette!  Mmmm.  Don't mind if I do.  :)

Glad to hear QJ is home safe & sound, hope you get some much-needed rest and quality kittycat time.

Hugs to everyone (including a few extra hugs for Sherpa, and anyone else who needs em)!  Thanks for another great Caturday, see you all next week!

Good morning! Glad to see QJ has been set free. Don't know if I'll be able to get back before threadclose, so I'll just say goodbye now. Hope everyone has a great week and I'll see you folks on Purrsday.

quantum_jellyroll: They turned me loose late this morning.
I still have the old pacemaker.
They've decided to wait, huddle, and keep an eye on me.
I'm not out of the woods, but the lion's share of the forest is behind me for a while.

Whoever said that a hospital is not a good place to get rest, was right.
I never got over 2 hours of continuous sleep before getting woken up to be weighed, BP measured, or blood drawn.
My arms have so many purple places on them, they look like a still life painting with lots of concord grapes.

I'm getting ready to hit the hay and see if I can make up some of the missed sleep.

I want to thank everybody for your encouragement and well wishes.
Like Sherpa says, "I don't know what I'd do without you guys in my corner",

Thank you very much.
and good night!

Oh. I made plenty. Used 8 chicken thighs; we both had it Sunday night (I had seconds) and I took it for lunch yesterday and will again today, so that's 5 meals.
