Morning! Still trying to decide if I should go in today. I have lots to do at work, but don't want to spread whatever this is to anyone else. UGH.

Stay home and take care of yourself. It won't do you any good to wear yourself out and making it worse.
You could try this old fashioned cure all.

Works for me :)  I'll skip the scotch, though (unless it's one of those out-of-this-world 100 dollar bottles)

Sounds like you live in the same general area as my brother (he lives in Wrentham, MA). If I fly in and out of Logan, he ususally takes the train to pick me up (depending on the time of day).

QJ.Dude..try and behave yourself in the hospital...HaHaaa..who am I kidding..we all know better! Seriously though, take care of yourself, there is only one you.

tigeroseCongrats on the weight loss! I am 4 lbs from my first goal weight. I'm setting little goals, they're much easier to reach.

Real Women Drink Akvavit:My advice for going to the hospital is to bring your own pepper mill and hot sauce. The food in those places can be rather bland and you need to eat healthfully to recover. If it were me, I'd bring an assortment of finishing salts as well, but in your case that would probably make them really mad, so yeah, don't do that.

Wish I had thought of that when I was in the hospital. On the other hand, I only got to eat a regular meal just before I was sent home. Most of the time I was on clear liquids. First day: was going to get an endoscopy next day, so no solids (but someone screwed up the scheduling and it never happened). Second day: was going to get an endoscopy next day, so same diet (which they actually scheduled). Third day: was going to get a colonoscopy next day so same again with the addition of the uber-powerful laxative (which was scheduled). Fourth day: had colonoscopy mid-afternoon. Got to eat when I got back to the room while waiting to see if they were going to release me.

I love Providence. My ex-SIL used to take me shopping there occasionally. (I know the outlet mall well too). After almost 30 years there, my brother still doesn't pahhhhk his caaaah and he still drinks from a bubbler. He also roots for the Red Sox and Celtics but his football loyalty has not strayed from the Packers. (Good thing too, he was born in Green Bay and was delivered by the GP who was also the Packers' team doctor back in the early 50's)

Alrighty..

..as mentioned on FB Caturday Page..or in last Caturday thread..so scattered, really no recall which..  I have *verra* limited time, this morn..so let's put it to good use..!!   =D

First and foremost, a HUGE amount of thanks fer  vudutek gifting me a free month of TF..  I was gunna handle that, m'self..but, as it turns out, my deposited pay is ~$50 less than expected and I won't know why until m'pay-stub arrives in the mail t'day or t'morrow..so the gift is *indeed* most timely and, without it, I wouldn't be here now..

Next, to  lilyspad..  Best wishes fer a quick recovery..dunno where y'are, but the up'n'down weather has played hades with everyone's health in my area, this year..my thoughts be with you..

And  q_j..even moreso t'you with the health issues you've been dealing with..  The uncertainty is killer, and the moment-to-moment change plays hell on the nerves  (blood I'd had drawn, two weeks+ back, fer bloodwork was 'lost in transit'..and fer whatever reason, no-one thought t'call me..  >.<  Now they're sending me a slip to have it done at the hosp, no additional charge o'course, but it will take me a couple weeks to schedule a workable time and another week+ fer results..when I *should* have had the results ~ April 22nd..blech..)..  Hang in there..!  We're all here behind you..  :)

Additional wishes fer  sherpa and  alien..haven't seen any new updates, and the last ones weren't all that promising..  :/

..and..I guess that's it, fer now..  Got one last 12-hour shift, t'nite..and then, a *glorious* 2-day weekend..!  (hint:  with my sched, my 'weekends' are usually 3 and 4-days long..  :P  )  After that, a 4-day (48hrs) week..then back to normal..  So, where I'm goin' with this..  Will be off after this post..and not back on until Sat morn..but will then be around as much as sleep permits until Moansday morn..after that..?  Weekends free fer a whole month..!

Everyfurry haz a great day/nite and I'll see you all again t'morrow morning..!

I shall leave this behind..  :)

syzygy whizz:

For those of you who are also dieting...I got something called Premier Protein Shakes at Costco (they're in the pharmacy department). They come in chocolate and vanilla; 160 calories and 30 grams of protein. This helped me IMMENSELY with the "I'm so hungry I'm going to kill someone and eat them!" grumpies...
I mix them 1:1 with whole milk (hey, just because I'm dieting doesn't mean I have to give up EVERYTHING nice). The vanilla has a very strong flavor...I prefer the chocolate, but YMMV.

Fifty lbs down since January...must be doing something right...but those Weight Watcher and Special K commercials that show happy women dancing around cos they supposedly lost weight...
They LIE.
My body is saying "Dude, WTF are you DOING to me?!" and doesn't believe me when I say "Trust me, it's for your own good...you'll thank me later. Really."

I hate the taste of cow's milk... So I mix my protein shakes with unsweetened Almond Milk, unsweetened Coconut Milk, or the tasty new version that's a mix of the two.  I love the taste :)  And great job on the weight loss!!

q_j - Dood!  Stoppit!  Hopefully everything goes swimmingly :)  **Big Hugs** and wishes for speedy recovery!!!

lilyspad - Get better fastly!

Aaaaaannndd... I can't remember what everyone else said anymore.  Dammit.  Oh, well... It's the last really nice, warm day before we go back to cold and raining, so I need to get my rear in gear and do some stuffs.  The cats aren't impressed with how much I've been outside, but they're happy to have their windows open... so I guess it works out ok.

New pics of Lars from yesterday or the day before.  I was laughing so very hard.  When he fell asleep, the blankie was thrown over the back/arm of the sofa.  The longer he stayed there, the more it fell over onto him.  Normally he HATES blankies on top of him, so I was surprised he just lived with it falling onto him for over an hour!

catmandu: Wish I had thought of that when I was in the hospital.

I tend to just wake up in hospitals and wonder WTF happened. I have never in my life entered one on purpose, except the ER, and when they tried to admit me, that did not go so well. They found out very quickly I know how to remove my own IVs and will flee without signing their stupid "AMA" form if I am even nominally mobile. So what I tend to do is wake up in a bed unable to do anything except weakly complain about EVERYTHING and then promptly demand a pepper mill, some fancy salts and an assortment of hot sauces. It is assumed if you know me well enough I am calling you, slurring my words and yelling "what's the name of this place again?" you will know I am NOT in a bar and that you should still also bring coffee, because you WILL meet my demands promptly and I will not let you rest until you do (because I'm probably shot full of drugs to keep me somewhat manageable). That's one of the very, very few advantages to being both sickly and firmly in the rowdy crowd. Everyone knows what to do in case of emergency or accidental bone breakage and concussions, because you've had plenty of those.

Another way of saying that would be "I'm a giant PITA without my treats, especially when half dead".

Hi, all.

I've been a lurker since 2008 and just signed up for TF today.  Every Monday morning I so look forward to viewing the Caturday page to make the Monday morning at work more bearable.

I'm posting now to ask a question - my cat, Nutmeg, will follow me into the bedroom after I shower every morning and demand to groom me.  Like, she is on the bed meowing fiercely, sits up on her haunches, stretches out her paw and grabs my face in order to give me a groom.  Usually on my chin or between my eyes.  Any thoughts?

The groomer in question:

tl:dr version...

I go in Friday.
I figure they'll throw me in the hospital and try to get as much water off of me as possible over the weekend.
Then Monday (assuming they get enough fluid off), they'll slice me and do the pacemaker switch.

If they're as smart as they should be, they should sell me to the gypsies and call it a successful day.

Sorry for the wall of text, but I just wanted to pass the word along.
Wish me luck.

And a critter..

Also, wish I'D thought of that caption for the terrier, dammit!

Real Women Drink Akvavit: catmandu: Wish I had thought of that when I was in the hospital....*stuff needed while in durance medical*

My ex-sig other had some pretty extended hospital stays...as in weeks or months. We usually knew when it was going to be lengthy, so when he checked in, it looked like he was moving in.
Two pillows, his fleecy blanket, a fan, the laptop (and cord), assortment of games/movies, tank-tops (he didn't like wearing hospital gowns; he felt better in a shirt) and hygiene kit (he had sensitive skin) with Dr Bronner's almond castile soap among other things.

Oh yeah, and flowers...usually alstromeria (aka Peruvian lilies). They give you the best bang for your buck for long-lasting if you remember to change the water every few days...we had one bunch last 3 weeks!
Oh, and the Ben and Jerry's Phish Food ice cream! Mustn't forget that...

There was a cat involved too...we asked the doc to write that he could have pet therapy and I'd bring my cat Esme to visit him.
She traveled well, and I think she enjoyed visiting her uncle...she'd melt into his arms, blink slowly and purrrrrrr. Charmed all the staff too...especially when she gave the doc a 'kiss' on the nose when he jokingly asked her opinion.

Spaz Cat Update!

Nice rescue lady just called a while ago. Yesterday the Dried Up Old Bag yelled at her and said if Spaz Cat did not produce kittens, she was outta there. Today Spaz Cat has produced THREE kittens! YAY!!! This may have a happy ending without me ending up with another cat after all! (Though I think my mom really wants Spaz Cat now) I have to focus on getting Lord Earl the Grey of Kitty somewhat trusting and find him a home before he ends up like poor Moo Kitty Sissy Doodles, so I'm glad I don't have to stress the Spaz Cat for a good while now.

I'm sure that would do it for most people. I would have ended up a Fark headline.

Nah, I would have been puzzled and probably followed along, too. Though that time my mom misunderstood when I was supposed to be returning home and couldn't reach me by cell phone and reported me missing didn't exactly lead to a great police contact experience. Once I figured out I wasn't about to be arrested, I was a bit annoyed. "Do I look missing to you?" I'm lucky he didn't make me missing himself, I guess. lol!
