Will they continue the tradition of having their bombers circling back again and again to make it look like they are stronger than they really are militarily?

Putin has also revived the Soviet-era practice of staging massive displays of military firepower on Red Square to mark May 9, the allied victory over Nazi Germany in World War Two, one of the most important days in the Soviet and Russian calendars.
Central Moscow streets have been partially closed in recent days as tanks and mobile rocket launchers rehearse for that parade next week.

If they did the sign-flipping thing just for the lulz, I would probably laugh until I ruptured something and died. That would be incredibly funny.

Laws have been changed to make it easier for Russia to annex territory from other former Soviet states
What the fark. It's happening it's happening ITSHAPPENING

and for inhabitants of other parts of the old Soviet Union to get Russian citizenship.
I would go ahead and do it and then not use it. Like keeping a hundred bucks in a box under your bed, it's just something to have ready at all times.

Every time Volkoff was on TV he would insist on singing the Soviet anthem.  As a teenager I didn't get it, now?  Genius!!

If Russia rolls over the Ukraine, and the West does nothing but whine, complain, and hope that no one notices that they did nothing to stop it from happening, the Russians don't have to pretend to be strong.

I posted in a thread yesterday, I hope this guy isnt right

Mike Baker, some former CIA analyst, was on Opie and Anthony Tuesday and briefly talked about this situation. He said he expects to see Russia in Eastern Ukraine within 3-4 days.  Some reasons:

*May Day is <today>, and Putin has said that the collapse of the SU was the biggest disaster of the 20th century - here's his chance to restore some glory.
*Merkel has said after talking to Putin that something doesnt seem right with him
*The US has been downplaying the 'superpower' thing and Putin sees a gap to be top dog again
*Putin has been completely unchecked thus far
