SigmaAlgebra: I don't follow the Kings (last night was the first game I've watched them play this year), so can someone fill me in on how Mike Richards went from Flyers' captain to a fourth line center in like three years?

He plays hockey to pay for his partying.

yeah this year we blew the big 1 game to zero lead in the series

/We need better defense
//We need more consistent play from the 3 and 4 lines
///We need a new coach?  If he can win gold in the Olympics, he should be able to win Lord Stanley
////Game misconduct for unrepentant slashing

So you're on the team?

So you're that guy?  You're not clever.  This is not a put down.  You should feel bad.

Well at least now when a team is on the verge of the same thing, I no longer have to hear: "the last team to blow a 3-0 series lead was the 2010 Boston Bruins".

/knows your pain Sharks fans
//at least the Bruins won the Cup the next year
///2010 was a kick in the balls for enjoying the Yankees in 2004 choking on dick

Second only to the A's losing to the Dodgers in the WS for worst playoff memories.

They looked old and slow and really had no heart. 0-15 on the power play made me feel like I was stuck in Sharks Groundhog Day. Same shiat year after year.

Dude wut.  Mike Babcock is a farking legend and a genius with lineups.  He took what was basically an AHL squad for most of this year, got them into the playoffs, and had them stand up to the #1 team in the league. There was definitely some shiat play but you can't say the Wings gave it to them easy.  We need fewer injuries.  We'll get better defense and consistent play from all lines as the amazing youngsters we have grow into their roles and each other alongside our senior leadership next year.  Hopefully the organization trims the dead weight of certain invisible players they had to rely on who I shall leave nameless at this point.

Lutwidge: Went to their first playoff game back in, I dunno, '95 or so, can't remember.

good. you guys will appreciate why this Flames fan is unreservedly happy the Sharks lost, in the most hilarious way possible. even after they scored the first goal I said they're just setting up to choke harder.

no disrespect to the fans though, they've always been fine. kinda the opposite of Vancouver that way.

Thomas Hertl's Playoff Beard: Or the Sharks goal that only crossed the line by an inch, so hey - why not give Quick a save?

Go look at the overhead view and tell me that it crossed the line.  And remember that the *whole puck* has to cross the line.

Thomas Hertl's Playoff Beard: It was reftastic.

I realized the refs tried to make up for blowing those calls with numerous phantom calls against the kings later in the game - but the sharks power play sucks. I would have much rather they just called the game right in the first place.

LOL.  Your argument appears to be "it's the refs fault because the Sharks PP is bad".
I'm not saying the reffing was great, but the refs giveth and taketh away from everyone.  It's part of the game.
If you don't capitalize when its your turn, it's your fault.

Thomas Hertl's Playoff Beard: Sharksfan: Game 7 was actually a good game.  The Sharks didn't score but it wasn't for lack of trying and good chances - Jonathon Quick was totally on his game and stopped many good shots.

Games 4, 5, and 6 were complete crap.  They should have put it away well before game 7.

It was reftastic.

Love that elbowing call on Couture to give the kings their 5 on 3.

Wow, you've gotta take those blinders off once in a while.

Kings had a 5 vs 3 for 6 seconds while Sharks had a 5 vs 3 for 1:40 in game 6 and after that they got another PP on a call where the Shark player lifted Doughty's stick to get the high contact.

Second goal in game 6 was controversial but that doesn't excuse the Sharks collapsing like they did? Did the Kings collapse when they were down 0-3 in the series? Did the Kings collapse in the regular season when Detroit scored a goal off the netting above the glass and the refs somehow didn't see it?

The Sharks choked on their own and their reputation as chokers is confirmed once again. Wear it.

animesucks: the sharks have a very loyal and incredibly forgiving fanbase. it's going to be a long offseason and hopefully amnesia will set in yet again. after seeing this year after year after year it's really hard to keep rooting for this team.

Yep - you're 100% right.

I have a personal (family) connection to the team which is why I'm a Sharks fan.  But I think the wrecking ball is going to go through the team in the off-season, just like it did 3 or 4 years ago when they got eliminated early.

I'm not even sure McClellan's job is safe at this point.  He's got a great regular season history but his playoff history is not great.  It seems like every other team in the league steps it up for the playoffs and the past few years the Sharks just haven't.

PowerSlacker: Time to blow the whole thing up.

Fark.

No.  I mean, maybe it is.  I don't watch much West Coast Hockey- but blowing it up may not be a necessity.
Look at the Bruins.  The Flyers came back down three to the Bruins in 2010 only to lose to the Hawks in the Cup Finals ( I mean, Ben friggin' Eager- really!!!).
The Bruins didn't panic, didn't blow it up, but made improvements.  That seems to work out very well for them in the last few years.

The Flyers blew up their team, and it didn't really help.
