Im starting to get the feeling that this will be another Lone Gunmen. Dont get me wrong I loved the Lone Gunmen but I think this show will not be what Breaking Bad Fans expect or want.

Odenkirk is a instant sell for me due to I am a big Mr Show fan

I forget what movie it was, but it was at the height of the shoulder-pad craze in women's clothing. She played a character who was dressing for a date, and her blouse didn't have the fashionable shoulder pads. So she took a couple of maxi pads, stuck them under her bra straps to hold them in place and, voila, instant shoulder pads.

Everything was fine until she went to have sex with the guy and took off her blouse ... revealing the maxi pads perched atop her shoulders held down by her bra straps.

Funny as it was, she looked damn good topless.

I would argue that ep of Voyager was actually great.

And Morris Fletcher.

Saul was a great character, but I don't knwo if a spinoff is going to be good. The guy who played him had an interview and IIRC made the point that Saul is too comfortable in his own skin. I don't see how they are going to make a good show out of it.

He works a lot with/in Christopher Guest's stuff:  He and John Michael Higgins play a gay couple in Best in Show and damned near own the movie.  (Catherine O'Hare and Eugene Levy pretty much own that one...but McKean and Higgins give them a run for their money.)

Also 'A Mighty Wind' - He, Guest and Shearer play a 60's folk trio...and they are awesome!

He's also pretty damned awesome in 'For Your Consideration...' (He and Bob Baliban are a scriptwriting team.)

(He also co-wrote most of the songs in 'Guffman')

Dream On alum McKean is repped by APA and Harriet Sternberg.

The identity of Michael McKean's agent has been nagging at me for years. I can finally sleep now.

I read that as Michael Keaton too. But I just woke up and the coffee hasn't kicked in and the booze hasn't worn off.

I hope Better Call Saul's character ends up being more like Oscar Goodman, but I have a feeling it will drift towards Matlock.  That gives me a sad brain.

Well there was a line in BB where he was lamenting how much harder it is to launder money nowadays and says he "misses the 80's" so unless they go waaay back, it's not going to be about him being a good lawyer and "turning to the dark side". At least I hope not.

You know, I think that film (1985) predates him schtupping Anette O'Toole; but since I didn't know that before reading TFT, I'm gonna pretend his "I'm gonna go home and sleep with my wife" was an ad-lib where they left the cameras running and McKean had to leave early that day.

Prequel series?!?!

darthvadernooo.jpg

STAHP WITH PREQUELS Show us him gettng back into it AFTER the events of breaking bad ffs.

I agree I'd much rather see a sequel than a prequel.   The only downside would be losing the Mike character.   Saul was a great character in a supporting role.  I think his experiences with Walt and Jesse changed him enough that it would be fascinating to see how he carries on after  that experience.  It would add a layer of complexity to his character which would make it more likely to work in a leading role.
