So more love stories?

2014-04-29 08:04:49 PM
I started this past season within a hair's breadth of quitting this show completely and for good. I didn't like it all, but it was good enough throughout that I'll give it another go. It's still a crappy episode or two away from sharing True Blood's fate, though.

The good news is Emily Kinney is listed in the cast by IMDB. No word on whether she shows up in person, as a flashback, or barbecue.

Well, I mean, it's only six months, so we should start the stories now.  TV masturbation takes a lot longer than the real life kind.

Every part of this half-season was good. I have no complaints about the pacing, plot or character development. Even boring eff-up medic Bob was well utilized.

they need to do a musical episode to keep it fresh.

I am waiting until they get to the "You have to be freaking kidding me" moment in the comics.

Stopped reading and lost all interest in anything further about it.

I am hoping for those following the show that they omit that story arc.

______________

By the way, who the heck is doing the landscaping?  Flora should be running rampant in some of the areas by now.  Are the mexican zombies reverting back to their previously-alive ways?

It's actually a season-long flashback to the farm and Lori frantically searching for Carl.

2014-04-29 11:32:33 PM
I'm not going to be happy until I see Maggie naked.  That is all.

SPoiLeR!!!!
do you mean the part when Carl got shot in the face? Or when Rick once again takes leadership over a town?

Bingo: what they mean is that they're going back to the farm.

And then they're going to rig up a generator so they can watch DVDs of Barney Miller.

And that's the end of the season.

For comparison, what have the last few seasons been going per hour? 35?

2014-04-29 11:57:28 PM
It's like a thousand miles an hour in a car with a broken speedometer and a jacked up transmission. Here's a tip, it's not a thousand miles an hour if you go a thousand miles and hour then stop for a long, drawn out mid-season break ... say goodbye to your momentum.

2014-04-29 11:58:52 PM
But Rick can't say fark?

25, but in the the left lane of a divided highway.  With its left turn signal on.

The season also had a Garfield stuck to the back window.

we shall see about that.

And which moment in the comics would that be? I only ask because there have been a few over the last couple years. Maybe you could provide an issue number as a hint if you want to avoid spoilers?

gravethoughts: And which moment in the comics would that be?

Kirkman is actually pretty OK if you can accept directionless pot-boiling and don't expect any kind of conclusion from him. His conclusions are never satisfying and they're usually awful. That generally works for the Walking Dead, since the only meaningful conclusions are changes in setting and/or major character deaths. I really lost interest after the prison and completely gave up the series shortly after issue 100 and it wasn't because of a change in setting. I started buying the pamphlets when issue #2 was still on the stands so it's not a decision I made lightly.

I had been buying Invincible in trades but the most recent issue of that was basically devoted to an extended domestic dispute followed by an extended female-on-male rape sequence.

... and I think that's the point where Kirkman lost me entirely as a reader.

I live near the filming location. It would be a hoot to be an extra. My neighbor was a farm zombie.

Was in Senoia ("Woodbury") on Sunday, and bought this for my new niece.

It's going to open in an English drawing room where various British dignitaries' wives are assembled for tea, awaiting the prime minister and his esteemed guests to return from the fox hunt. They are startled by the returning hunters, they are carrying the body of one of their number! It turns out that the victim is an up-and-coming Tory cabinet member who was concealing information that could end the prime minister's government and the man himself is heavily implicated in the crime. The street wise east London woman DI and the experienced and world weary SIS agent have to unravel the threads of intrigue and deceit that twists through the modern world of British politics to either clear the Prime Minister's name - or damn him.

The series runs for another six episodes and ends forever.

You'll actually be pleasantly surprised by the end of All Out War. That one ended with a real feeling that Rick and his group have managed to hold on to the progress that they have made. It really changes the status quo. I have a feeling some writer's room discussions on the show may have given him some good ideas that he is testing out in comic form first.

I didn't realize the 2014 Hyundais that they will be driving in could go that fast.

Most boring show ever now. First few episodes were good then downhill. Boring, no zombies just talking and walking. The talking dead.

Nice! I was also there on Sunday.  Stopped into Katy Lou's for some fried green tomatoes and a beer with Bill, the proprietor. Who knows? We may have passed each other on the street.

2014-04-30 08:07:47 AM
If it were up to me, I'd troll the audience by having them escape from Terminus in the first five minutes of season 5, never to mention it again.

Then send them back to the farm or something, since they seem to be within 20 minutes of every place they've been before.

The Walking Dead doesn't refer to the zombies. It's not about them.

The ending of ALL OUT WAR pissed me off a bit. If only because a certain character who I will miss, never got his justice. Also if the series lasts long enough, I can see Rick as Professor X and Carl as Magneto.

Stay in the train car, Carl.

Carl, stay in the train car.

Where's Carl? He's not in the train car!

Have you seen Carl? I checked the train car.
