The equipment seized included a 3D TV, laptop, speakers and a PlayStation 3.

Seems like overkill. Why not just take the speakers?

I agree that it seems like overkill. By a good bit. How loud was this tool playing his music, anyhow? Most towns, in the US, anyway, have a decibel ordinance. It's generally not enforced until someone goes farking batshiat loud with noise.

2014-04-29 06:14:16 AM
If he asked him to...he might have turned down his stereo...and you wouldn't have to listen to Celine forever....

What do the rules say about neighbors revving the nuts off a F250 diesel engine for tuning purposes at 2am?

Probably nothing except that only rednecks and ghetto folk 'tune' their cars. Especially at 2am.

He was given 6 notices telling him to turn that shiat down,  not overkill by a long shot.

He should've had it taken away after 3,  or since it was Celine Dion being blasted it would've been fine by me to smash the equipment the first time the cops were called over about it.

It's called crap. That's a more appropriate genre title.

"And I, iiieeeeiiiiieeeiiii, will always loooooooove youuuuuuuUuUuu"

Wait.....wrong annoying song.
Well, annoying when someone else sings along.

Or worse. Sings it solo.

As for the intersection thing, I swear to God, I once thought my car was acting up, it turns out it was the bass from the car two positions behind me.

We had one of these in the neighbourhood. His thing was Kid Rock and that genre though. I could recognize what was playing a block away.

Police finally went in and took his equipment. Then discovered the apartment was rented under parents name, and the resident had outstanding warrants.

Never. Heard from. Again.

I don't care what music you play but if I can hear it in my own home, it's too loud.

2014-04-29 07:23:10 AM
The bit that I don't understand is how a laptop and laptop speakers could be loud enough to be heard on a different house. Damn things can barely be heard when you're right in front of them.

We had an apartment neighbor who would rattle the pictures off of our wall. Mrs. Phamwaa, who was trying to study for finals, finally snapped and read him the riot act.

Two weeks later, we came home to find a SWAT team infesting our breezeway. Turns out Mr. Neighbor was wanted for murder in L.A.

Good, now the next target is those asshole kids who drive around my house with huge stereo systems in their cars rattling my windows because the volume and bass is turned up so loud, you can feel the vibrations of it on your skin. And its usually craptastic rap. If you are going to drive by my house blasting music, at least have the decency to play something less moronic.

I'm torn between the rocket propelled grenade method, or the silent but nuclear option, full out internet sleuthing to find out everything about this moron and ruin their existence.  Neither one will be inexpensive.

It's generally not enforced, period. The cops show up, tell them to quiet down, they leave, noise comes back on.

I think the British have the right tack with the ASBO and taking their stereo, but then again it is a full-on nanny state maneuver.

I'm in favor of installing those signs like the ones that tell you how fast you're going, except these would noise-activated and would light up with messages like YOUR MUSIC SUCKS, WHITE BOY or SORRY ABOUT YOUR DICK.
